Tremendous new deal makes the jumbo-sized Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (with pen) simply irresistible

If you're having trouble choosing the right device for you from Lenovo's expansive budget-friendly tablet portfolio, this hot new deal on one of the company's latest Android giants could make your decision a total walk in the park. Released just a little over a month ago at a reasonable price of $389.99, the 12.7-inch Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is incredibly available for less than three Benjamins now. For an undoubtedly limited time, you can use a special "TABLETSAVE" e-coupon on the device manufacturer's official US website and end up paying $296.99. $93 off (24%) Wi-Fi Only, 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM, 12.7-Inch LCD Screen with 2944 x 1840 Pixel Resolution and 144Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Android 14, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Processor, 10,200mAh Battery, 45W Charging Support, Quad JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP Rear-Facing Camera, 8MP Front-Facing Camera, Luna Grey Color, Lenovo Tab Pen Plus Included, TABLETSAVE E-Coupon Required Buy at Lenovo That's lower than the recently reduced price of $329.99, and the latest and greatest Idea Tab Pro discount makes it virtually impossible to recommend the purchase of something like the Galaxy Tab S10 FE or Tab S10 FE+ right now. Samsung's newest mid-range slates are available for a whopping $500 and $650 in 10.9 and 13.1-inch screen sizes respectively, and while they do hold a number of key strengths, it's hard to understand why anyone would ever favor them over Lenovo's value-packed 12.7-incher. Believe it or not, your 297 bucks will get you a handy Lenovo Tab Pen Plus in addition to the affordable Lenovo tablet itself, which cancels the stylus advantage the Tab S10 FE duo has over the best Apple iPads out there, for instance. What's perhaps even more impressive about the steeply discounted Idea Tab Pro is that its IPS LCD panel is not only large and sharp, but silky smooth too, supporting 144Hz refresh rate technology for an exceptionally fluid mobile gaming experience. Then you've got a hefty 10,200mAh battery equipped with blazing fast 45W charging capabilities that promises to "last all day", keeping you both busy and entertained during your travels, daily commute to the office, and even at your actual workplace. That wouldn't be possible without a reasonably frugal (and respectably powerful) MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, and somehow, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro also manages to be remarkably stylish, measuring a slender 6.9mm. Because there's no such thing as a perfect tablet (especially in the sub-$300 price bracket), the long-term software support could definitely prove to be a problem, as Lenovo can only promise two major OS upgrades (on top of Android 14 ) and four years of security patches. Small inconvenience for certain potential buyers? Probably. Absolute dealbreaker at $296.99? I don't think so.

Motorola Pad 60 Pro review: Stylus and AI highlight this midrange tablet

Motorola recently forayed into the India's tablet market with the launch of the Pad 60 Pro, positioning it in the midrange segment with a starting price of Rs 26,999. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300, the tablet is marketed as a well-rounded option for gaming, entertainment, and creativity. But how does it fare in real-world use? Here's our detailed review. Design and Build At first glance, the Pad 60 Pro bears a striking resemblance to the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (review), which comes as no surprise given Motorola's parent company. The design language is nearly identical – from the camera module to the diagonal lines on the back that indicate the magnetic zone for stylus attachment. The only noticeable differences are the slightly smaller LED flash and the Motorola 'M' logo branding. The tablet features a PANTONE Bronze Green finish, rounded corners and weighing approximately 620 grams – identical to the Lenovo counterpart. Its large size makes it slightly uncomfortable to hold for extended periods, and the camera bump causes a bit of wobble when placed flat on a surface. That said, the build quality feels robust enough to withstand minor drops. The top panel houses the power button and two speaker grilles. The bottom panel includes a USB-C port and two more speakers, giving it a quad-speaker setup. The right side has volume buttons, while the left features pogo pins for accessory attachments. Display and Audio The 12.7-inch 3K pOLED display offers a 144Hz refresh rate and 400 nits peak brightness, matching the display specifications of the Idea Tab Pro. The colours, validated by PANTONE, are vibrant and visually appealing, making it a solid choice for multimedia consumption. Audio is delivered through JBL-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, creating an immersive viewing experience for movies and web series. However, gaming audio is less impressive. In titles like BGMI, even at maximum volume, critical audio cues like footsteps are barely audible without external earphones – hampering the gameplay experience. Brightness is another shortcoming. While adequate indoors, outdoor visibility is poor, with reflections and glare affecting usability. Motorola Pen Bundled with the tablet, the Motorola Pen adds value by enhancing productivity. It delivers accurate input and is ideal for note-taking, sketching, and navigating the interface. Although there's minor latency, it's negligible during casual use. The stylus supports system-level tools such as screenshot markup, Google's Circle to Search, zooming, and media controls. It also offers smooth handwriting recognition, converting handwritten notes into digital text with ease. While not on par with high-end styluses, it performs reliably for everyday tasks, especially at this price point. Camera The Pad 60 Pro inherits the 13MP rear and 8MP front camera setup from the Idea Tab Pro. The cameras deliver average performance in daylight but struggle in low-light conditions, often resulting in overexposed highlights and lack of detail. The front camera suffices for video calls but softens skin textures in selfies. The built-in document scanner performs decently, making it suitable for scanning paperwork when needed. Performance and Software Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300, the tablet handles daily multitasking well. Switching between apps like Chrome, Notes, Sketch, YouTube, BGMI, and EA Sports FC 24 was smooth, with no major lags during regular use. However, gaming performance is inconsistent. BGMI experienced frame drops and lag at high graphics settings, which could be frustrating during intense gameplay. Audio shortcomings further diminish the gaming experience. Less demanding games like Asphalt and EA Sports FC 24 run well, but the large screen can make visuals appear slightly pixelated. Ergonomically, the size works against it during gaming. Holding the device in landscape mode becomes uncomfortable over time, especially for users who rely on four-finger controls. The tablet ships with Android 14, which is disappointing considering Motorola has already introduced Android 15 for its smartphones. The company has not clarified the number of OS updates, but it is expected to follow the Idea Tab Pro's path and receive only two major Android updates, ending with Android 16, due out next month. Battery and Charging With a 10,200mAh battery and 45W fast charging, the Pad 60 Pro offers moderate endurance. It can last a full day on light usage but drops to 5–6 hours under heavy gaming. Charging from 0 to 100 per cent takes around 75 minutes, which is efficient for a battery of this size. Verdict The Motorola Pad 60 Pro is effectively a rebranded Lenovo Idea Tab Pro with identical specs but a slightly lower price – Rs 1,000 cheaper. It's a strong contender for media consumption and productivity, especially with the included stylus and vibrant display. However, if you're seeking a tablet primarily for gaming, this may not be the right choice. Audio limitations, frame drops, and ergonomic discomfort detract from the gaming experience.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro: Is it a reliable Android tablet for entertainment use?

Lenovo launched the Idea Tab Pro in India. I shared a detailed review of the device earlier – click here to read the full review. What I found while testing the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro was that the audio department is quite well sorted. The display and the JBL-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos technology left a strong impression, which is why I decided to focus more on the multimedia viewing experience this time. Let us find out if the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro can be our ideal movie companion. Display To begin with, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro features a 12.7-inch 3K LCD display of a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 400 nits. While it is an LCD display – which might initially seem underwhelming – it proved to be surprisingly impressive. Watching movies and web series on this tablet did not disappoint in delivering punchy and vibrant colours. Bright shades like red, yellow, and green appeared vivid, albeit slightly sharp, but overall, the display did justice to these colours. As for darker shades, it exceeded expectations. Certain series or films adopt darker themes, using multiple shades of black to convey mood or atmosphere. A notable example would be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which uses darkness to highlight light. When I rewatched the film on this tablet, the portrayal of black shades was particularly effective. What I assumed would be the tablet's weak point – the LCD panel – turned out to be one of its strengths. The large display almost made me feel as though I was watching on my MacBook, which has a 13.3-inch screen. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the display. Now, let us move to the department that complements the display in enhancing the multimedia experience – audio. Audio Any smartphone user would know that while one speaker delivers decent sound, two can greatly improve clarity and volume. Now, imagine having four speakers, all from JBL and tuned by Dolby Atmos. Sounds impressive, right? That is what the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro offers. The audio output during my first use was astounding. Despite being extremely loud, the tablet did not compromise on sound quality or clarity. I could hear every word clearly, even at full volume. In terms of bass, the tablet fell slightly short. However, when considering the overall sound experience and clarity, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, with its JBL speakers, performed admirably. Handling and comfort The tablet, however, has one notable downside – its greatest strength is also its biggest drawback. Due to its large display, handling the tablet can be cumbersome. Anyone expecting to manage it with one hand will be surprised. Earlier, I compared the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro to a laptop with a 13-inch screen. How comfortable would it be to hold a 13-inch screen for extended periods? Using the tablet in hand to watch a video is manageable, but binge-watching an entire series requires setting it down. Despite its rounded corners, the 620g weight and extra-large display left me with no option but to place it on a surface to watch comfortably. Verdict Starting at Rs 27,999, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is one of the best display companions for entertainment use. The large display, excellent sound, vibrant visuals, and smooth performance make it a strong contender. For those seeking a tablet with a bigger screen than a smartphone for watching films or web series, this is one of the best options in its price range. Yes, the size may be an issue for some, but a trade-off is often necessary – sacrificing a little comfort for a richer multimedia experience, especially in the midrange segment.
