Ottawa County's Grand Crossings Loop now complete
ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The says the Bayou Segment of the Idema Explorers Trail is now done, completing the Grand Crossings Loop.
The loop travels 24 miles around the Grand River, connecting parks and communities, and expanding access to local natural spaces.
Grand River Greenway work continues, now possibly stretching to Lowell
'This milestone was made possible by the expansion of the Green Street Bridge over Stearns Bayou, along with new wayfinding signage in the City of Grand Haven to help trail users navigate the route,' . 'The bridge improvements enhance safety and include two bump-outs for fishing and wildlife viewing.'
The Idema Explorers Trail is also part of the Grand River Greenway, which follows the Grand River from Grand Haven all the way to Grand Rapids and now has plans to potentially expand all the way to Lowell.
When it is all said and done, it is expected to offer at least 60 miles of trails, giving visitors a chance to take in West Michigan's natural beauty on foot, on bike and on boat.
