Over £5,000 raised for charities in the Lord Mayor of York Charity Golf Day
THE recent Lord Mayor of York's Charity Golf Day saw over 170 golfers take part in this year's event.
Over 170 golfers descended upon Pike Hills Golf Club recently to take part in the Lord Mayor of York's Charity Golf Day.
On a fine day, teams enjoyed excellent weather and course conditions.
'If Only!', a fourball team from Derbyshire that were captained by former York City player Paul Johnson, won the coveted trophy with 91 points.
Johnson made over 80 appearances for York from 1987 to 1989, and was a key part in the 'If Only!' victory last Friday.
Over £5,100 was raised on the day which will go towards the Lord Mayor's chosen charities for this year, the Stroke Association, Survive, York RLFC Foundation and York City FC Foundation.
