Ranieri declines to lead Roma for another season
Claudio Ranieri was recently offered the opportunity to stay on as Roma's head caoch. Since his return to the bench in November, the Italian technician has been able to salvage what a lot of people considered to be a lost season. Given his immediate impact on the team, Il Romanista reports that the Friedkins even went as far as offering Ranieri the possibility of extending his contract as head coach of the team for another year. The coach initially wavered, took his time. Then he said no and let the Friedkin family know that he was not available to coach another year. As a result, the search for a new manager capable of leading Roma in the long-term is on, with the names of Gasperini and Farioli mentioned as concrete options.

Porto fans set off firecrackers outside Roma's hotel
It was an eventful night for Claudio Ranieri and his men, less than 24 hours prior to the first leg of the Europa League playoffs with Porto. As reported by Il Romanista, a few hours before the match against Anselmi's Porto, a large group of opposing fans decided to disturb the sleep of the Giallorossi players. The Portuguese supporters were seen setting off several firecrackers (repeated explosions were reported throughout the night) near the hotel where Roma are staying in Portugal, all from 3 am onwards. The same 'strategy' was adopted by AZ fans before the match in Alkmaar, prior to Roma's 1-0 defeat.
