UK household goods wholesaler tops Tax Defaulters' List
A British-based wholesaler of household goods has topped the latest Tax Defaulters' List, with a total bill of more than €1.11m.
Lifetime Brands Europe Ltd, with an address in Birmingham, England, was found to have under-declared VAT to the tune of €777,606 following a review by Revenue.
When interest and penalties were added, the total sum owed rose to €1,115,755.
The second biggest penalty listed in the quarterly list was the €781,000 deemed to be owed by Illann Power, with an address in Ballyconnell in Tullow, Co Carlow.
That sum related to the non-declaration of income tax, and was deteremined by the courts following a case last year.
Mr Power previously faced multiple charges, including reckless filing of company information and forgery.
I&L Biosystems Ireland Ltd, a laboratory equipment supplier in Finglas, Dublin 11 was found to have owed revenue €761,677 for under-declaration of VAT.
That was made up of €539,264 in unpaid tax, €60,634 in interest and €161,779 in penalties.
Meanwhile property development company SSC Property ICAV, with an address on Earlsford Terrace in Dublin 2, was found to have under-declared VAT to the tune of €490,926.
When interest and penalties were added, the total owed rose to €648,301.
Also included on the latest list was tax rebate agents Online Tax Rebate Services Ltd, which failed to declare PAYE, PRSI, USC and income tax to the tune of €101,814.
With penalties and interest included, the amount it owed came to €188,206.
