$700K winning Lotto ticket sold at gas station in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood
CHICAGO — A jackpot-winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket worth $700,000 was sold in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood. The winning ticket was purchased at a Shell gas station, located at 130 West North Avenue. The player matched all five numbers in Friday's midday drawing to score the jackpot prize. The winning numbers were: 28-29-30-32-37. Manny J., owner of the Shell gas station, expressed with excitement, 'Not only did we sell this big winning ticket, but less than a month ago, we sold a $50,000 winning $10 scratch-off ticket! I might be like a lucky penny.' For selling the winning ticket, the gas station will receive a bonus of one percent of the prize amount, that means a bonus of $7,000. The owner added, 'Here's where it gets even crazier. I also own a Mobil in Des Plaines, which I lease out. Earlier this year on my birthday, that location sold a $10.4 million winning Lotto ticket!' Manny J. also said, 'Many of my employees have been with me since the very first day this Shell station opened– over 25 years ago. That includes Alicia Sandoval, our store manager, and George Urbietta, who helps oversee all of our locations. I plan to reward my employees by distributing part of the bonus to them.' Lotto player wins $600K in online game
CHICAGO — A Lucky Day Lotto player is no doubt having a sweeter Valentine's Day after winning a $600,000 jackpot in the online game earlier this week. The unnamed player matched all five numbers in the Wednesday evening drawing, winning the jackpot from the 17,000 tickets that were purchased, the Illinois Lottery said in a release. The winning numbers were 5-19-31-35-38. Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only game with twice daily drawings at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m. Tickets for the game can be purchased in stores, online at or on the Illinois Lottery app. Changes are coming to Mega Millions in April: What to know More than one million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold this year, netting players more than $7.9 million in prizes, the release said. The Illinois Lottery was founded in 1974. Since last year, proceeds go to the state's Common School Fund and other causes as directed by statute. $10.4M winning Lotto ticket sold at gas station in Des Plaines
DES PLAINES, Ill. — A lucky Illinois Lottery player purchased a winning ticket worth $10,400,000 in the northwest suburbs. The ticket was purchased at a Mobil gas station, located at 9660 Golf Road in Des Plaines, for the February 8 drawing. The winner matched all six numbers to score the $10.4 million jackpot. The winning numbers were: 6-9-18-31-39-49. 'We only bought this store a month ago, and already we have a big jackpot winner!' exclaimed Jinu John, co-owner of the Mobil gas station in Des Plaines. 'I don't know who won – but it's certainly one lucky guy or girl.' The gas station will receive a selling bonus of one percent of the prize amount. 'Since we only recently took over this location, we are eager to get to know our customers and hope to start seeing some regular faces,' added John. 'Our employees are all excited about this win, and of course we hope we'll find out who the lucky winner is.'
