Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection reveals more details about the Luminara

Luminara, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's third ship debuting in July, will have an array of fine art, seven bars, five dining venues and new luxury retail offerings, including Cartier and Piaget stores. The 452-guest Luminara will display 731 pieces from artists including Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder and David Hockney. Ritz-Carlton said it commissioned about 65% of the art just for the Luminara. Ritz-Carlton said a suspended light sculpture will be the ship's standout piece, spanning seven stories and illuminating the aft staircase atrium. The art will complement marble and walnut interiors. Expect a pallet of soft blues, warm greys and ocean hues with bronze and ruby accents. James Beard Award-winning chefs Fabio Trabocchi and Michael Mina are behind two of the yacht's dining venues. Trabocchi helped design Seta su Luminara, an Italian venue with an eight-course tasting menu and a la carte options. Mina is behind the Latin America-inspired Beach House aboard the Ilma and has reimagined the restaurant for Luminara with a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean menu. Luminara will also have a pan-Asian restaurant called Haesu Bit; Azur on Luminara, with regionally influenced menus centered on seasonal ingredients; and Mistral, a Mediterranean restaurant specializing in seafood and grilled meats. Mistral is also on the Evrima and Ilma, Ritz-Carlton's first two ships. The new Art Bar, with installations of Cycladic art, will pair cocktails with regional desserts tied to ship itineraries. Like Ritz-Carlton's first two ships, the Luminara will feature the Marina with its floating lounge platform and central pool, where guests can swim directly into the sea. The main pool will be on Deck 10, where there will also be two hot tubs. Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen and Piaget are all new additions on this ship. There will be additional shopping at the Boutique, where guests can find an evolving collection of clothes, accessories and gifts. The Ritz-Carlton Spa on Luminara will have 11 treatment rooms. Luminara will be the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's first ship to venture to Asia and Alaska. Its maiden voyage departs July 3 from Monte Carlo.
