Dawoodi Bohras reach Vizag for ‘Ashara Mubaraka' congregation

: Thousands of Dawoodi Bohra community members from across the globe have begun to arrive in Vizag to participate in the 'Ashara Mubaraka' congregation. This year, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd leader of the global Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, chose Chennai, as the central venue for the congregation, with Vizag serving as a satellite centre for live broadcast.
Ashara Mubaraka refers to the first 10 days of Muharram, the first month of lunar Islamic calendar, when Dawoodi Bohras congregate to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husain and his family members in Karbala in 7th century, who stood to uphold the universal principles of justice, truth and humanity. For the Dawoodi Bohras, attending the Muharram congregations is a spiritual and educational journey of growth and event is scheduled to take place from June 27 to July 5 at Mohammedi Masjid Complex-Yendada in Vizag city.
The community, under the leadership of Saifuddin, dedicates these learning sessions to reinvigorating their faith as they navigate the complexities of modern life. The sermons inspire them to seek knowledge in the light of the Quran and to strive to emulate the noble qualities of the Prophet Muhammed and his family members.
