R&B lovers are in for a soulful treat as DJ Selby brings his smooth sounds to Imbizo Shisanyama in Midrand on Sunday evening. Known for his rich selection of love ballads and timeless grooves, DJ Selby is fast becoming a household name in the genre. Based in Mbombela, the DJ, whose real name is Selby Malatji, has been making waves in the local music scene with his nostalgic sets that pay homage to the golden era of R&B. His biggest musical inspiration is the late legendary Metro FM DJ Eddie Zondi, whose signature Sunday Soul Sessions became a staple in many South African homes. Selby continues that legacy by curating emotionally resonant mixes that celebrate love, heartbreak, and everything in between. 'I grew up listening to Eddie Zondi. His passion for soulful music and the way he connected with listeners left a huge impact on me,' he told TshisaLIVE. 'Every set I play is a tribute to that era and to him.' Asked what fans could expect on Sunday, DJ Selby said: 'Fans attending the event at Imbizo Shisanyama can expect a night filled with smooth classics, contemporary R&B hits and a few surprises.' DJ Zan D is preparing a high energy set for his performance at popular shisanyama on Saturday
YFM DJ Zan D is planning a high energy set for his performance at a popular Midrand shisanyama restaurant on Saturday. DJ Zan D, real name Zandi Ngwenya, is a music producer, radio and club DJ. He hosts a weekly mix on YFM's YTKO feature and co-hosts YFM's Hip-Hop Show. Additionally, he is known for his music production, having released successful singles like Runway (2015), Bad in December (2015), and Risque (2016). DJ Zan D is going to be a guest DJ in the line-up at Imbizo Shisanyama at Midrand Mall on Saturday. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, he said: 'I'm planning on bringing a high energy set to get people on their feet. The set will infuse some current hits with a whole lot of classic songs to cater for different ages. I also have some future hits that I'll be introducing tonight.' DJ Zan D will be shooting a music video next month for a song he recently released, O.U.A.T.E, which stands for Once Upon A Time eDustini. Imbizo Shisanyama liaison officer and events organiser Koketso Mfusa said: 'As we are in the long weekend of celebrating and commemorating Freedom Day our patrons can expect to enjoy a good music offering taking us back to our roots. 'Among our guest DJs we will be hosting Zan D of YFM. Be sure to come and create brand new memories with us. Our future plans are to see the company grow, increase our patronage footprint, work with well known and upcoming artists, deliver good food, service and entertainment at all times.
