Federal Election 2025 live: Albanese, Dutton cast votes in home electorates, PM cites 'real trouble' for Labor if he loses Grayndler
Voting was a family affair today for South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas who cast his vote at a church in the safe Labor seat of Adelaide, which is held by Steve Georganas.
After joining a lengthy queue to cast his ballot at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary School in Brompton, the Premier was able to enjoy just one bite of a democracy sausage before he had to give it back to his toddler.
Along with his young son, Mr Malinauskas was joined by his wife and his 10-year-old daughter, who he said was now starting to ask questions about the democratic process.
'It's good for her to start to understand. [I] emphasise it's up to her to make her own opinions when she gets to vote. Don't listen to what mum or dad tell her, she's got to make up her own mind,' he said.
'But I think young people need to appreciate what the democratic process looks like.'
