Six men nabbed for vandalising immigration officer's car with red paint

KUCHING (May 31): Six men were recently apprehended by police for splashing red paint on a vehicle belonging to the Deputy Head of the Immigration Enforcement Division.
In an official post on its Facebook page, the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) stated that the incident occurred on May 22 at approximately 3.10pm in front of the parking area near the Kuching Immigration Office.
The suspects were later detained the following day in the areas of Gita, Tabuan Jaya, and Matang.
They are aged between their 20s and 30s, with several having prior criminal records.
'Items seized include two motorcycles and a mobile phone belonging to one of the suspects.
'Preliminary interrogation revealed that all suspects admitted to committing the offence of splashing paint on the complainant's vehicle while riding two motorcycles bearing false registration plates,' the post read.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for an act of mischief involving damage to a vehicle.
