'I think I've found some of the best sushi in London and you should try it too'

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Kaia Japanese Restaurant at The Ned recently, and I'm still thinking about the experience days later. From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived, everything about the experience felt special, starting with the warm and welcoming service. In particular, Ludo looked after us with such genuine care and attentiveness — she struck that perfect balance of being present without ever hovering, offering thoughtful recommendations and detailed insights into each dish that really elevated the meal. The food? Honestly, some of the best sushi and fish I've ever had, and I mean it. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest)Everything was impeccably fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. We started with the salmon and avocado roll, which was perfectly balanced — rich and buttery from the avocado, with a zing of brightness from the lime mayo that really brought it to life. It was the kind of dish you want to order twice, and maybe even three times if you're not careful. It came on a movie-like platter with the sashimi three ways - tuna, salmon, and seabass. Each slice was expertly cut and just melted in the mouth. The quality of the fish was exceptional, and you could tell it had been sourced and handled with real attention to detail. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) You could tell it was more of a fatty tuna, which is my absolute favourite, and means each piece is thick and succulent too. Alongside that, we tried the Kaia tartare, which was a standout. A fusion of textures and flavours that somehow managed to be both delicate and bold at the same time, again including salmon, tuna, seabass and avocado all mixed into one. We paired our sushi starter board with a Jasmine Bloom cocktail each from the new Sakura Season menu. It was sweet, but not too much, and was refreshing with a hint of jasmine, citrus and passion fruit. The salmon poke bowl was hearty and satisfying, packed with vibrant, fresh ingredients and layered flavours that felt both wholesome and indulgent. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest)The colours #were bright, the presentation was impeccable, and every single flavour complimented each other. If it weren't for me being full, I'd have wanted to order another. My boyfriend finished with the lamb chops, which were cooked to absolute perfection — juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. While Kaia is known for its sushi, this dish proved the kitchen's versatility and depth, and the menu is incredibly versatile with other hot dishes such as miso black cod and salmon teriyaki – two things which I found it difficult to resist. I was full but resisting a chocolate mousse is not something I am capable of, and I'm glad I didn't. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) Rich, but not too rich, moist, and chocolatey, I'm still dreaming of having that again. Kaia sits next to The Ned Sunday Feast, another absolute MUST to go on your London eats list. Kaia isn't just another Japanese restaurant - it's an experience – and even the setting is beautiful with high counter long tables or round tables near to the chef for a more immersive feel. A place where the service, atmosphere, and food come together to create something truly special. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just someone looking for a beautiful night out, I can't recommend it highly enough. I'll absolutely be back, and soon. (Image: The Ned) Kaia is welcoming the beauty of cherry blossoms for the annual Sakura Season, featuring a faux stained-glass installation by renowned artist Hiroko Imada, cocktails which celebrate Japanese artistry and nature using House of Suntory spirits and a special dessert crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Darian Smidt. These seasonal specials will be served in Kaia until June 29. Jack Cohn, F&B Director of The Ned, said: "For the first time in over 100 years, our windows are the centre of attention for Cherry Blossom season. The faux stained-glass installation will fill the atrium of Kaia with a beautiful light, bringing to life one of the most cherished seasons in Japanese culture. "We invite our guests to bask in the creative artistry while enjoying expertly crafted drinks featuring The House of Suntory spirits and a dessert inspired by the season.".' 'I tried the new menu at The Landmark London with a chef from The Ritz'

The Landmark London has a new chef for its Winter Garden restaurant, and with a refined menu with a modern European approach, it's not one to miss. Nestled beneath the breathtaking eight-story glass atrium of The Landmark London, The Winter Garden Restaurant offers a beautiful dining experience that seamlessly blends grandeur with culinary excellence. From the moment I stepped into this stunning space, surrounded by towering palm trees, I knew I was in for something special. The Atrium at The Landmark London (Image: The Landmark) New Head Chef Brian Hennessy, formerly of the Michelin-starred Ritz London, brings his globetrotting inspiration to every dish, marrying classical flavors with contemporary techniques. I began my meal with the salt-baked beetroot salad, a vibrant dish complemented by a lime beetroot gazpacho and topped with walnuts. The combination of earthy sweetness and tangy citrus made for a refreshing and beautifully balanced start. My boyfriend opted for the lobster, which was expertly prepared and accompanied by brown shrimps, mussels, and a decadent lobster sauce. (Image: The Landmark)We both loved our starters and knew that our main courses would only make the meal get better. I chose the Halibut, a perfectly cooked fillet with a delicate, buttery texture and a beautifully crisp skin. I could really taste the quality of the fish, and the generous portion was much appreciated. My boyfriend, a steak lover, went for a steak option which was cooked to perfection, the juicy, tender, and full of rich flavour. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) Steak aficionados will appreciate the selection of prime cuts, including the impressive 550g Chateaubriand for two, which remains a standout option for those looking to indulge. Although I am a strong believer that dessert is held by the heart not the stomach, and therefore there is always room, we were actually completely full and decided not to order. A decision I now regret as my mouth waters with hunger as I write, especially when reciting the menu. Options include milk and honey mille-feuille, where crisp pastry layers encased honeycomb, dulce de leche, and milk ice cream; or a rhubarb and custard doughnut, a nostalgic treat that perfectly captures classic British flavors with a refined touch. Dining at The Winter Garden Restaurant is more than just a meal - it's an experience that celebrates fine ingredients, skilled craftsmanship, and the enchanting surroundings of one of London's most distinctive culinary destinations. Whether for a special occasion or an indulgent evening out, this is a place to savour.

The new London dining spot that's taking TikTok by storm

As a devoted admirer of London's ever-evolving dining scene, I knew I had to check out Nina - the new Italian hotspot in Marylebone that's been all over TikTok. From the team behind Zephyr and Bottarga, two of my favourite Mediterranean-inspired spots, Nina has been causing a stir online, making it notoriously difficult to get a reservation. The team have been taking TikTok followers on a behind the scenes journey of getting the restaurant ready for diners, and it's captured London diners' appeal and tastebuds. I managed to secure a table, and let me tell you - it was worth the hype. The moment I walked in, I understood why people are obsessed. The atmosphere is effortlessly stylish, with warm lighting, elegant decor, and a crowd that looks like they stepped out of a fashion editorial. There's a buzzy energy to the place, making it feel like the spot to be. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) One of my favourite parts was the decor and the fun notes that have been put in place of pictures coming on the wall - with one saying "artwork reveal soon". Now, onto the food - because that's where Nina really shines. The focaccia with parmesan butter arrived first, and I could've made a meal out of it alone. The bread was perfectly fluffy with a golden crust, and the parmesan butter was indulgently rich, melting into every bite. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest)Next, we had yellowtail with Stracciatella, a dish that balanced fresh, silky fish with creamy cheese in a way that felt both unexpected and genius. But my personal favorite? The tuna tataki on orange melon - a combination I'd never tried before, but one that worked beautifully. It's an Instagram and TikTok favourite, but it doesn't just look good and that's what I liked about it. The raw tuna had just the right amount of bite, while the juicy melon added a burst of sweetness that made the whole dish sing. For mains, we shared the tomato spaghetti and the duck ragu. The spaghetti was a lesson in simplicity, with perfectly cooked pasta coated in a deep, vibrant tomato sauce. (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest)Meanwhile, the duck ragu was rich, comforting, and packed with layers of flavor - the kind of dish that makes you want to mop up every last drop with some leftover focaccia. When it came to dessert, I had my eye on the huge tiramisu that had been making the rounds on TikTok, but I couldn't resist the chocolate sorbet with sea salt, especially because it was only for two of us. (Image: Nina) It was the perfect balance of bitter, sweet, and salty, with a texture so smooth it felt almost luxurious. Between the effortlessly cool vibe, the seriously good food, and the impossible-to-get reservations, it's clear why Nina has gone viral. It's the kind of place that feels like a special night out without being overly fussy. If you manage to snag a table, consider yourself lucky - you're in for a treat.
