"Baldoni vs. Lively: A Hollywood Feud" Docuseries in Works
Yara Sameh The ongoing legal saga between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is far from over and is proving to be a major source of inspiration for documentary makers. Just weeks after ITN Productions unveiled the swiftly-made 'He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni,' Warner Bros. Discovery U.K. & Ireland has announced 'Baldoni vs. Lively: A Hollywood Feud.' Announced among a slate of new unscripted commissions, the docuseries — produced by Optomen — will follow the 'battle that's shaking up Hollywood' and offer a 'forensic' look into the lead-up to the impending court cases between the actor and her 'It Ends With Us' director. It will launch on Discovery+ in June in the U.K. Meanwhile, for U.S. viewers, 'In Dispute: Lively v. Baldoni' is airing on ID and will be available to stream on Max and Discovery+. 'Baldoni vs. Lively: A Hollywood Feud' is the latest in WBD's 'vs' true crime series, which so far has includes 'Johnny vs. Amber: The U.S. Trial,' 'Vardy vs. Rooney: The Wagatha Trial and Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce.' Also announced alongside 'A Hollywood Feud' and also launching on Discovery+ in July is 'Rubiales vs. Hermoso: The World Cup Kiss' will also drop on Discovery+ in July. Also produced by Optomen, the two-part series looks at the events following the infamous kiss that overshadowed Spain's win against England in the 2023 Women's World Cup. One episode will hear from Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, who earlier this year was found guilty of sexual assault for kissing the team's standout forward player, Jenni Hermoso. Speaking for the first time since the media storm which led to his resignation in 2023, Rubiales will offer his side of the story. Another Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Doc Sets June Premiere on Discovery+
Warner Bros. Discovery is moving forward with another documentary about Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, according to multiple media reports. 'Baldoni vs Lively: A Hollywood Feud' — the working title of the upcoming project — will be the latest installment of Discovery+'s 'Vs' franchise. The project is expected to premiere in June. The special out of Warner Bros. U.K. & Ireland promises to be a deep dive into the case ahead of its trial date, which has been set for March of 2026. The streamer previously released similar documentaries about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, as well as Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney. This is actually the second documentary about Baldoni and Lively set to come to Discovery+. After its premiere in the U.K., 'In Dispute: Lively vs. Baldoni' will come to the both Max and Discovery+ on Monday. The documentary comes from ITN Productions and is a condensed, hourlong version of 'He Said, She Said,' the 90-minute title that first premiered on Channel 5. 'In Dispute' will be available to watch live Monday at 8/7c on both ID and Max. The battle between the 'It Ends With Us' director and actress has dominated headlines for months now. The legal part of it started in earnest around December of 2024 when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios that accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and intimidation. That lawsuit also accused Baldoni's camp of organizing a smear campaign against Lively, which the New York Times explored in an exposé. In turn, Baldoni countered with a $400 million defamation countersuit against Lively. He was also behind a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times, though that suit was eventually dropped and the Times' involvement was amended into his original claim.
