Head-on crash involving semi-truck forces closure of road east of Lamont

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Tejon Highway is closed in both directions after a head-on crash involving a semi-truck and a sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at around 8:19 a.m. Monday on Tejon Highway just north of Mountain View Road, according to CHP's Traffic Incident Information Page. Two vehicles collided head-on. One person was reported pinned inside a gray sedan. Northbound and southbound traffic is closed, CHP said. A hazmat team has been called to the scene for a diesel fuel spill from the crash. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A rolled over semi truck trailer is blocking a transition road and slowing traffic Thursday morning along eastbound Highway 58. The collision was reported at around 9:30 a.m. involving the semi-truck and two other vehicles according to the California Highway Patrol's Traffic Incident Information Page. Portion of China Grade Loop closed due to oil spill

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A portion of China Grade Loop remains closed Wednesday morning following an oil spill, according to the California Highway Patrol. The closure is on China Grade Loop from Junction Road to Round Mountain Road, according to CHP's Traffic Incident Information Page. There was no estimate for when it would reopen. Subscribe Now The oil spill was discovered late Tuesday night at around 11 p.m. The Kern County Fire Department said a sheriff's deputy saw a vehicle lose control while traveling eastbound on China Grade Loop, east of Chevron Way. The fire department said a mix of oil and water was in the roadway. A hazmat team was called to the scene and found the mixture of the oil and water traveled nearly a half mile down the road and into an area of dirt between the roadway and the Kern River.
