Ram Charan's Game Changer editor Shameer Muhammed recalls ‘terrible experience' working with Shankar: ‘I left the film'
Ram Charan and Kiara Advani's Game Changer was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. However, it opened to negative reviews from both the audience and critics, and failed at the box office. In a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies, Shameer Muhammed, the film's editor, revealed that he had a terrible experience working with filmmaker Shankar due to his working style. (Also Read: Game Changer review: Ram Charan-Shankar film is an expensive masterclass on electoral politics) Shameer revealed that he did not complete the editing of Game Changer and said, "I spent a year with that film. I went there for three years. It was in the last six months that I was told I would have to stay with them for another month. I had a sketch here, so I came at that time. When I was editing, the film was 7–7.5 hours long. I made it three and a half hours. After that, a new editor came in and shortened it to 2.5–3 hours." When asked about his experience working with Shankar, Shameer said, "It was a terrible experience working with Shankar for me. I went there with great excitement, but things were happening in some other world there. He would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days. The same pattern continued for several days, and I ended up staying in Chennai for 300–350 days. Then I left the film. It would have been a terrible mistake if I had left AR and Marco for Game Changer." Shameer revealed that he had to pass on several projects because of Game Changer and didn't want to give up Marco and Ajayante Randam Moshanam. Editor Ruben took over the role after Shameer stepped away from the project. The political action drama film, directed by S. Shankar in his Telugu debut and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, featured Ram Charan in a dual role alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, and Samuthirakani in key roles. The film received mixed to negative reviews from both critics and audiences and marked Shankar's second major box-office bomb after Indian 2. The film earned only ₹186.28 crore worldwide.

Rakul joins Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan in ‘De De Pyaar De 2'
Rakul Preet Singh is all set to reprise her beloved role as Aisha in De De Pyaar De 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2019 romantic comedy hit. Starring alongside Ajay Devgn, who returns as the middle-aged man caught between love and family drama, the sequel introduces R. Madhavan in a key role, sparking curiosity about a fresh twist in the love triangle. While the original film, directed by Akiv Ali, won over audiences with its mix of humor, emotion, and an unconventional romance, the sequel will be helmed by Anshul Sharma. The film is backed by T-Series and Luv Films, and is scheduled to hit theatres on 19 September 2025. Fans are eager to see how Madhavan's entry will stir things up in the narrative, possibly challenging the equation between Aisha and Ashish (Ajay Devgn). Rakul's character had won hearts in the first part for her charm and spontaneity, and expectations are high for her performance once again. Off-screen, Rakul recently turned heads with her bold fashion statement — a denim-on-denim look paired with high boots — adding to the buzz surrounding her upcoming projects. With recent setbacks like Mere Husband Ki Biwi and Indian 2, De De Pyaar De 2 is being seen as a potential comeback for the actress. Fans are hopeful this sequel will recreate the magic of the original and give Rakul the box office success she richly deserves.

Retro vs Kanguva Tamil Nadu Final Box Office Comparison: Which movie performs better?
Suriya's latest outing Retro turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office. Here's comparing the box office collections of Retro and his previous release Kanguva in Tamil Nadu. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro kicked off with Rs 14 crore on its opening day and stormed over Rs 34.50 crore in its 4-day opening weekend. While on the other hand, Kanguva, helmed by Siva Siruthai, had taken a start of Rs 11.50 crore in Tamil Nadu and could collect just Rs 24 crore in its opening weekend of 4 days. The romantic action drama co-starring Pooja Hegde met with mixed word-of-mouth while the historical drama recorded a disastrous response among the fans and the critics. Both movies crumbled on their second day itself. And by the end of their opening weekend, they started crawling at the box office. Retro wrapped its theatrical journey at just Rs 48.50 crore, which is better than Kanguva 's final cume of mere Rs 31 crore in Tamil Nadu. While the Karthik Subbaraj film ended up being a flop, the period drama landed up being one of the biggest disasters of Indian cinema, matching shoulders with Indian 2 and Game Changer. Suriya has now moved on to his next film. The actor has just announced Suriya46 with director Venky Atluri of Lucky Baskhar fame. Mamitha Baiju is playing the female lead. It will be interesting to see which upcoming movie will mark the true comeback of Suriya at the box office. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
