Native Siouxland crop in focus for latest installment of weekly event series
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City's Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center has Native American history and heritage in focus for the latest installment of their 'What's on Wednesday' series.
On Wednesday, March 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., kids and families can stop by to learn about maize, a crop native to Siouxland. Education Coordinator Elizabeth Albright will also lead attendees in making their own beaded Indian Corn. Attendees will also have a chance to design a bushel, a kind of basket meant to carry dry goods, and to complete some activity pages.
