The manning agency of the Filipino crewmen who were rescued from a container ship that sank off the Indian coast assured Monday it will send help to the seafarers.
In a report from the manning agency provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs, 20 of the 24 crew members are Filipinos.
'We are coordinating to ensure that the seafarers receive appropriate medical attention and are provided with essential clothing and humanitarian support as needed, considering they may have disembarked without personal effects,' the manning agency said.
'The Indian Coast Guard assisted 12 Pinoys, while the passing merchant vessel MV Han Yi rescued 8 Pinoys,' it added.
