Neet aspirants overcome challenges with consistency family support and determination
Nagpur: Hard work, consistency, and guidance from alma mater helped city students crack the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET (UG), with flying colours. Umaid, who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 21, credited his success to a disciplined approach and a strong support system. Despite facing challenges during his preparation, he relied on his teachers for emotional and academic support. "I contacted my teachers, and they guided me during tough times," said Umaid, a student of Indian Olympiad School. Hailing from a supportive family, with a civil engineer father and a homemaker mother, Umaid said that his school and coaching classes played a key role in resolving his doubts. His routine involved 7–8 hours of daily study alongside regular classes. "I stayed consistent, attended every session, and gave maximum effort," he shared. His advice for NEET aspirants: "Focus on NCERT for Biology and Chemistry, practice PYQs for Physics, and tackle higher-level analytical problems." Through all the ups and downs, Disha stayed focused on her goal. She now hopes to get a seat at GMCH Nagpur, allowing her to continue her medical journey in her hometown, close to her roots and support system. Moleen Raut from Bhandara also cleared NEET UG in his first attempt, scoring 570 marks (AIR-5471). He ranked 127th in the SC category. Moleen followed a steady routine, studying 11 to 12 hours a day. His hard work and discipline paid off. Behind him stood the quiet support of his father, a pharmacist, who inspired and encouraged him throughout. Mishra aims for AIIMS Nagpur AIIMS Nagpur is the dream destination for Manas Mishra, who secured an impressive AIR 835 in the general EWS category. Studying 8 to 9 hours daily, he received strong support from his family. His father works in the irrigation department, his mother is a teacher, and his sister is an IT professional. With unwavering discipline and determination, he is confident of getting admission at AIIMS Nagpur. OBC topper overcame eyesight problem Jay Sanjay Khandekar overcame a major eyesight problem to emerge as Vidarbha topper in the OBC category. He faced the unexpected challenge just before NEET-UG, following a significant rise in his glasses' power. However, he remained resolute and focused on his goal. Supported by his businessman father, homemaker mother, and an MBBS brother, Jay overcame every obstacle to achieve his dream. With dedicated effort—studying 10 hours daily—he achieved an impressive All India OBC rank of 502 and secured the 1st rank in Vidarbha in the category. Nagpur boy Umaid Khan tops Vid with AIR 21, ranks 3rd in Maha
1 2 Nagpur: Umaid Ahmed Khan brought laurels to the city with an AIR of 21 in NEET-UG 2025 results declared on Saturday. He was ranked 3rd in Maharashtra. Besides Umaid, four more students excelled with good AIRs in NEET-UG from the city. Mohammad Nashit was the second city topper with AIR 136, followed by Malhar Mahale with AIR 154, Panshul Sanjay Gaikwad securing AIR 254, and Aditya Sawle with AIR 264. All the five students took regular coaching at a private institute in Nagpur. City topper Umaid studied at Indian Olympiad School from Grade 8 to 12, consistently demonstrating academic brilliance, dedication, and a passion for excellence. He wishes to pursue MBBS from AIIMS Delhi. "His success is a reflection of his hard work. Umaid is an inspiration for all our students and a testament to what determination and discipline can achieve," said Suhail Khan, director of Indian Olympaid School. The faculty members of the coaching institute too congratulated all the students and wished them a bright future. Four students from Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, stood meritorious in different categories, though they had lower all India rankings. Jay Khandekar is the probable topper in the OBC category from the city, while Moleen Raut was probably first in the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. Khandekar scored 597 marks out of 720 for a 99.9273 percentile, and Raut scored 570 marks out of 720 (99.7482 percentile). Manas Mishra is the likely topper from EWS category. Mishra scored 560 marks out of 720, with a 99.6143 percentile. Disha Mankani excelled in the general category from the college. Mankani scored 551 marks out of 720, with a 99.4572 percentile. Many students of Dr Ambedkar College brought laurels by scoring above 95 percentile and keeping the legacy alive, said college officials.
