Indian-origin musician Lara Rajagopalan targeted, falsely reported to ICE for being an 'illegal alien'

Indian-origin musician Lara Rajagopalan has been falsely reported to ICE for being an illegal alien. Indian-origin musician Lara Rajagopalan, a member of the girl group KATSEYE, was targeted as she was reported to the ICE as an illegal alien. In a screenshot of the anonymous ICE tip form, someone claimed that Lara Rajagopalan did not obtain the necessary status to remain in the US. "There is an illegal alien in l.a known by the name Lara Rajagopalan, she has not obtained the necessary visa or legal status required to remain in the US and appears to be working and residing in the United States without legal authorization," the apparent summary of the "criminal activity" other form read. This comes as ICE increased its raids and crackdowns across the country and president Donald Trump has vowed to expand the ICE raids, especially targeting sanctuary cities and Democrat power centers like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. "see you in the city jail @lararaj," one posted. As this emerged to be a fanwar, Lara's fans questioned that she has to deal with such things because of her Indian origin. "Reporting lara to ICE as a joke? that's not funny, that's evil. y'all do anything for attention even if it means ruining someone's life," one wrote. The ICE tip form reporting Lara Rajagopalan viral on social media. Recently, TikToker Khaby Lame was detained by the US immigration as he overstayed in the country on his tourist visa. Conservative TikToker Bo Loudon, who claims to be Barron Trump's best friend, took the credit for reporting Khaby to the administration. But Lara is a US citizen though she was born in India. Her mother, Kavita Rajagopalan, is an Indian Tamil and his father, Sri Rajagopalan, is a Sri Lankan Tamil. Soon after her birth, the family moved to the US and Lara spent her childhood in Dallas and Los Angeles. In 2018, Lara appeared in a video by Michelle Obama's Global Girls Alliance. Lara embraces her Indian origin in her music style and fashion as she often sports a bindi. Recently, she came out as queer.

#SHOWBIZ: Irfan Zaini: I took 38 'bashings' to perfect a scene

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's own Kollywood star Irfan Zaini said that his role as gangster Malik in the action movie Blood Brothers: Bara Naga was his most "painful" to date. The 30-year-old actor said in a news report yesterday that he was "hit" 38 times, including by a falling cupboard, as director Syafiq Yusof wanted to create perfect action scenes. "It was really painful, I suffered bloody injuries and bruises, so did most of us who played the gangsters. "A weapon drew blood from my face and a cupboard fell on me, breaking on impact," said Irfan, adding that he felt great despite the "batterings and bruisings" in the 38 takes. Irfan said that his character Malik was the "playboy" amongst the titular gangsters or Blood Brothers, who provided comic relief to the story together with Syazwan Zulkifly who played the bumbling detective Jaki. "I've been in the film industry for six years now, and I've never endured as much pain as in this movie. Nevertheless, I welcome it as it makes me a memorable action hero," said Irfan who has gained a larger fan following since appearing in the movie. Irfan said that he had no martial arts experience prior to Blood Brothers and "struggled" while undergoing martial arts training for five months to prepare for his role. Irfan became a household name after starring in the Indian Tamil movie GOAT alongside Vijay Thalapathy last year. Directed by Syafiq and Abhilash Chandra, Blood Brothers which premiered in cinemas nationwide on April 10 also stars Sharnaaz Ahmad, Syafiq Kyle, Shukri Yahaya, Syazwan Zulkifly, Zamarul Hisham, Wan Hanafi Su, Amelia Henderson and Tracie Sinidol.
