Nashik: Intense rainfall continued to batter Nashik city for the third straight day on Monday. Several neighbourhoods were waterlogged, streets were congested, and many trees were uprooted. The city received 21mm of rainfall within four hours in the 70 trees were uprooted in different areas, including Satpur, Cidco, and Gangapur Road on Monday afternoon. They caused traffic congestion lasting over an hour at multiple locations. The fire brigade personnel responded promptly, clearing the trees to restore traffic movement. While electricity was partially restored after three and a half hours in the Ambad industrial area, most of Satpur MIDC remained without power through Monday Industries and Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) reported that industries faced production losses exceeding Rs 50 crore due to power IMD has issued a yellow alert predicting thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) in isolated areas of Nashik on Tuesday and Wednesday. Light showers are expected on Thursday and Friday. Besides Nashik city, heavy rainfall affected parts of Sinnar, Niphad, Chandwad, Trimbakeshwar, and other talukas of Nashik district, causing flooding in Trimbakeshwar town.
