Jayesh Ranjan unveils Phase-I of Cygni Energy's gigafactory
HYDERABAD: Jayesh Ranjan, CEO, Industry and Investment Cell in the CMO, unveiled the first phase of Cygni Energy's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Gigafactory at E-Mobility Valley in Maheshwaram on Wednesday. The fully automated, 1.6 lakh sq. ft facility, set up with an investment of over Rs 100 crore, marks the Hyderabad-headquartered company's foray into large-scale energy storage manufacturing, according to a release. Located on a five-acre campus within the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC), the Phase-I facility has an initial capacity of 4.8 GWh and will produce high-capacity battery packs for electric vehicles and grid-scale storage systems, catering to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and large stationary storage projects. Terming the launch a 'transformative step toward sustainable energy, manufacturing excellence and innovation', Ranjan said the state is committed to supporting such initiatives. Cygni founder and CEO Venkat Rajaraman said the Phase-II expansion will raise the facility's capacity to 10.8 GWh. The total investment across both phases will be Rs 250 crore, generating over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in the next 24 months.

Prepare comprehensive plan for Miss World 2025: Telangana CM
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed the officials concerned to prepare a comprehensive action plan for the successful conduct of the Miss World 2025 beauty pageant in the State starting May 10, 2025. He wanted the officials to take steps to ensure that there was no scope for any inconvenience to the participants attending the prestigious international event. The Chief Minister gave the directions during a meeting with senior officials at integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad on Tuesday (April 29, 2025), to review the preparedness of the government for hosting the event. The officials gave a detailed overview of the arrangements that were being made. Mr. Revanth Reddy was particular that adequate security arrangements were made at the airport, hotels where the participants were expected to stay and the venues where the pageant would be held. Special arrangements should be made for the participants to visit historic and tourist places in the State. Officials were instructed to appoint department wise special officers exclusively to oversee the arrangements for the conduct of contest. Steps should be taken to complete the pending beautification works in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. Jayesh Ranjan — who was transferred on Sunday (April 27, 2025) and given Full Additional Charge as Special Chief Secretary of the Tourism department — attended the meeting. He was also posted as CEO of Industry and Investment Cell in Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery (SPEED). Director General of Police Jitender; Secretary (Agriculture) M Raghunandan Rao; Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) Musharraf Faruqui; Cyberabad police commissioner Avinash Mohanty; Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand and others attended the meeting.
