Three juveniles charged with string of carjackings in South Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three juveniles accused of carjacking multiple people at gunpoint overnight were charged Tuesday morning after a police pursuit through South Nashville and Antioch. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the three teens — two aged 15 and one aged 16 — were reportedly driving a stolen Toyota Tacoma in South Nashville. 1 in custody after high-speed chase ends in North Nashville Around 2 a.m., they stopped at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Richards Road in Antioch. The three teens allegedly approached a man in the parking lot and demanded his phone and wallet before they got into the man's Saturn car and drove away. Authorities said around 10 minutes later, a woman in an Infiniti Q70 was carjacked in the 300 block of Bakertown Road. The victim reportedly told officers that a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck rammed into the back of her vehicle, and armed individuals approached her. The suspects then got into the Infiniti and drove off, leaving the truck behind. A Metro Police helicopter began tracking the Infiniti, and officers on the ground deployed spike strips along Hamilton Church Road. After the car was stopped, the three teens exited and ran into the woods. The Saturn was found abandoned near Tusculum Road and Park Court after it had been set on fire. ⏩ All three suspects were apprehended with the assistance of the helicopter, canine officers, South Precinct officers and detectives. 2 people injured in crash on Berlin Turnpike in Wethersfield
WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries following a crash on Berlin Turnpike at the intersection of Pawtucket Avenue in Wethersfield, police said. The crash happened just after midnight on Saturday when officers were informed of a two-car crash involving an Infiniti Q70 that was fully engulfed, and a driver was trapped inside, police said. Driver in custody after striking Connecticut State Police cruiser on Interstate 395 in Waterford Police said an officer at the scene broke a window on the Infiniti and was able to pull the driver out. An investigation revealed that the Infiniti was driving northbound on Berlin Turnpike and the Audi was driving southbound on Berlin Turnpike when the driver of the Audi tried to turn eastbound onto Pawtucket Avenue. The Infiniti allegedly disregarded the traffic signal and collided with the Audi, police said. EMS responded to the scene, and both drivers were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. The driver of the Infiniti was issued an infraction for traveling unreasonably fast and failure to obey a control signal. The crash is under further investigation, police said. Driver rescued from burning vehicle following crash on Berlin Turnpike
One person was rescued from a burning car following a two-car crash in Wethersfield over the weekend that sent two people to the hospital. The crash was reported Saturday at 12:10 a.m. on the Berlin Turnpike at the intersection of Pawtucket Avenue, according to the Wethersfield Police Department. Responding crews received reports that one of the vehicles involved, an Infiniti Q70, was fully engulfed in flames with the driver trapped inside. Police said an officer broke the window of the Infiniti and pulled the victim out. That individual as well as the driver of the other vehicle involved, an Audi Q8, were taken to the hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to police. Police said their investigation found that the driver of the Infiniti was heading north on the Berlin Turnpike as the Audi driver was going south. The collision occurred as the Audi driver attempted to turn east onto Pawtucket Avenue. Police said the Infiniti driver allegedly disregarded the traffic light and collided into the Audi. The Infiniti driver was issued an infraction for traveling unreasonably fast and failure to obey a traffic control signal, according to police. The crash remains under investigation.
