Bursa Slides Nearly 14 Points On Midday
Bursa Malaysia extended its losses at midday as widespread selling pressure weighed down key indices, with the FBM KLCI shedding 13.93 points or 0.93% to 1,485.54.
The benchmark index hit a high of 1,492.44 and a low of 1,482.70 in the morning session.
Broader market weakness was evident with the FBM 70 dropping 166.77 points (-1.08%) to 15,341.47, while the FBM Emas Index declined 104.55 points (-0.94%) to 10,990.84. The FBM Shariah Index lost 97.01 points (-0.89%) to 10,788.06, and the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index (F4GBM) fell 8.75 points (-0.98%) to 886.17.
On the most active list, Ingenieur Gudang Bhd led with 589.6 million shares traded, slipping 0.5 sen to 3.5 sen. Nextgreen Global Bhd rose 1.5 sen to 36 sen with 266.7 million shares traded, while Awanbiru Technology Bhd gained 0.5 sen to 78.5 sen on volume of 231.9 million shares.
Meanwhile, Magma Group Bhd eased 0.5 sen to 36.5 sen and Bina Puri Holdings Bhd was unchanged at 34.5 sen.
