ABT has given the Audi S5 Avant a nice little power bump and made it faster

We would say it's pushed it closer to a potential RS5 Avant, but since our heads are still spinning from Ingolstadt's naming convention changes, we have no idea what anything means anymore. So let's just call it 'quick'. And 'powerful'. ABT has taken the 3.0-litre V6 and opened it up a bit, bumping the outputs from 362bhp/369lb ft to 434bhp/443lb ft. The 155mph top speed remains unchanged, but the extra 72bhp should help cut the original 4.5s 0-62mph sprint down a bit. There's 25mm lowering springs to drop it right down, and a full bodykit that includes a more aggressive front lip, inlet cover and rear wing. Bigger 102mm stainless steel quad exhausts sit at the back, while 20in five-spoke 'Prime' alloys hide inside those arches. Why they've been named after KSI's energy drink, we don't know. You might like By comparison the interior's changes are much subtler: integrated entrance lights into the door sills, ABT-branded floor mats, a new start-stop switch and… that's about it. Seems like some aftermarket tuners do still remember how to keep things low-key. You'll be forking out €14,900 (about £12.5k) for the package, which seems decent for the power hike and leaner suit you're getting in return. Before all that though you'll need to first get an S5 Avant, which used to be an S4 Avant but will remain an S5 Avant (we think), and the going rate for one of those nowadays is £72,450… at least. The New Base Audi E-Tron GT Is Still Plenty Powerful and Quick
It's been nearly a year since Audi gave its electric sedan a mid-cycle update. Ingolstadt initially focused on the hotter S and RS variants, but now an entry-level version has joined the lineup. Visually distinguishing the base model is no easy task, as Audi chose to keep the design essentially unchanged. The most noticeable tweaks include more black accents up front and the absence of S/RS badging at the rear. Despite being the base trim, this E-Tron GT still features Quattro all-wheel drive, with one electric motor on each axle. Audi quotes a combined output of 496 horsepower or 577 hp with launch control. That's enough EV muscle to propel the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a brisk four seconds flat. Compared to the sportier S model, which shares the battery pack, the new base version is about 66.1 pounds (30 kilograms) lighter. Still, it tips the scales at a hefty 5,200 lbs (2,359 kg). Even in its most affordable form, the E-Tron GT supports ultra-fast 320-kW charging. Under ideal conditions, you can add 177 miles (285 kilometers) of range in just 10 minutes. A 10 to 80 percent top-up takes only 18 minutes, assuming you can access a compatible charger. So, what do you lose by opting for the entry-level model? It's 0.6 seconds slower in the sprint and sacrifices 93 horsepower compared to the S. On the upside, it gains nearly 12 miles (20 kilometers) of range, thanks to the dialed-down electric motors and slightly lower weight. The base E-Tron GT in Germany starts at €108,900, undercutting the S by a significant €17,100. Interestingly, Porsche's Taycan 4 is still slightly cheaper at €107,300, and the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive Taycan begins at an even lower €102,600. Pricing for the United States hasn't been announced yet, but with the S model retailing from $126,795 (including destination), the base E-Tron GT is still expected to carry a six-figure sticker price. Former NHLer, U.S. Olympian Re-Signs With German Club
American forward Kenny Agostino, 33, has signed a one-year contract extension with ERC Ingolstadt, the DEL club announced on Monday. Last season, his first with the club, Agostino had 53 points and 38 penalty minutes in 62 regular-season and playoff games. Ingolstadt finished first in the DEL regular season but was eliminated in the semifinals by Kölner Haie. 'Last season made me want more, and I'm looking forward to returning to Ingolstadt and playing again with the team and the fans,' said Agostino, who added, 'My wife and I also really enjoy Ingolstadt and the region, which of course made the decision easy in the end.' 'Kenny has exceptional qualities, is a difference-maker on offense, and was one of our most productive forwards last season,' said Ingolstadt sports director Tim Reagan. 'He will continue to play this role in the future.' Kenny Agostino moves from Düsseldorf to Ingolstadt Veteran American forward Kenny Agostino, a former NHLer and Olympian, will remain in Germany but is moving from Düsseldorfer EG to ERC Ingolstadt, the latter DEL team announced on Friday. Agostino was a fifth-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2010 and then attended Yale University for the next four years, helping the Bulldogs win the NCAA title in his third year. After turning pro, he played 86 NHL games for the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs, recording 30 points. In 2016-17 with the AHL's Chicago Wolves, he had 93 points in 75 combined regular-season and playoff games. For the last three seasons, Agostino has played in Europe, first with the KHL's Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and then in Düsseldorf, where he played the 2023-24 season. In 2022, he was chosen to represent the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, scoring one goal in four games. Agostino is the second former NHLer and Olympian that Ingolstadt has re-signed from last year's squad, joining Canadian defenseman Morgan Ellis.
