Workshop on Agricultural Expansion Program in Marib
Marib - Saba: A workshop on the Agricultural Expansion Program was held in Marib province, organized on Thursday by the agriculture sector in the province. The workshop aimed to provide agricultural sector officials in the directorates, members of the Executive Unit for Financing Agricultural Projects , Initiatives, and supporters of the program in the province with skills and expertise to implement the project to expand the cultivation of staple crops. Mohammed Thiab, Director of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the province, pointed out the need to benefit from the outcomes of the workshop and apply them on the ground to achieve the desired goals. The workshop witnessed interaction from the participants, and included technical explanations by the Ministry's agricultural expansion project engineer, Engineer Mohammed Fatih, about the mechanisms for entering data through the electronic application and building a comprehensive database for the province in the agricultural field. UAE approves new project to build, expand water dams in 13 residential areas
As many as nine water dams will be constructed in a new package of construction projects in the UAE, it was announced on Friday, The mega plan, which falls under the 'Initiatives of the UAE President', is aimed at increasing the country's water storage capacity to 8 million cubic metres, thus boosting rainwater collection and preventing floods in residential areas. The project also seeks to bolster the nation's infrastructure in response to climate change. Besides building new dams, the plan covers the expansion of two existing dams and a group of rubble barriers. The project will be implemented within 19 months in 13 residential areas. These include Shis area and Khorfakkan city in Sharjah; Masfout area in Ajman; Shaam and Al Fahalin in Ras Al Khaimah, Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Al Hail, Al Qaryah, Qidfa, Marbah, Dhadna, Al Seiji and Al Ghazimri areas in Fujairah.
