Shivamogga: Education minister Madhu Bangarappa extended congratulations to Sushant N Prabhu, an 18-year-old resident of Megaravalli village, Thirthahalli, who earned admission to IIT Kanpur's BTech programme in chemical engineering.
Born to Narasimhamurthy Prabhu, who operates a motorcycle workshop, and Sujatha, a homemaker, Sushant transformed his modest background into academic success. His early exposure to mechanics while assisting his father in the workshop cultivated his technical aptitude. He acquired proficiency in motorcycle repairs and created an innovative 'Self Chain Adjustment System', designed to automatically regulate motorcycle chains.
This creation brought him national recognition in the Inspire Award-2022 competition.
His participation in the competition led him to the National Institute of Technology (NITK) in Surathkal. This experience inspired him to pursue studies at prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. His dedicated preparation culminated in securing admission to IIT Kanpur through the entrance examination.
Sushant revealed his ambitions to innovate, establish his own enterprise, and appear for civil services examinations, fulfilling his father's aspiration.
