KPMG launches AI Trust suite to aid risk & compliance efforts
KPMG has introduced a suite of AI Trust services designed to support organisations in strengthening governance, reliability, accountability, and transparency in the deployment of artificial intelligence. KPMG AI Trust has been developed using the company's Trusted AI framework alongside the ServiceNow AI Control Tower. These new services are aimed at addressing the full lifecycle of AI adoption, from strategic planning to operational management. The offerings form part of KPMG's alliance with ServiceNow, a provider of cloud-based workflow automation platforms. KPMG is utilising ServiceNow's AI technology to develop industry-focused tools meant to help clients manage risks associated with AI, including readiness, compliance, legal considerations, regulatory demands, security, and risk transformation. The suite provides organisations with tools to navigate each stage of AI integration. It includes a risk-tiered AI Solution Intake Evaluation for risk assessment, centralised AI Inventory and Controls to apply policies and risk standards, pre-launch validation of AI solutions to ensure thorough vetting before deployment, and Dynamic Regulatory Applicability Assessments to continuously monitor and adapt to changing regulatory environments. According to the KPMG AI Quarterly Pulse survey, risk management is identified as the main challenge for 82% of business leaders looking ahead to 2025. The same survey indicates that 73% of respondents prioritise data privacy and security when choosing a generative AI large language model provider. Only 46% of participants in the Trust, attitudes and use of artificial intelligence global study reported that they are willing to trust AI systems. Bryan McGowan, Global Trusted AI Leader and US Trusted AI Leader at KPMG in the US, said, "We are at a critical turning point where AI is moving fast, but governance is lagging. It's not enough for AI to simply work; it needs to be trustworthy. By activating KPMG AI Trust with alliance partners like ServiceNow, we are taking a significant step forward in AI governance to set a new standard for AI risk management across all industries." KPMG AI Trust leverages agentic AI enabled through ServiceNow to deliver what it describes as scalable and automated governance protocols. These features are intended to help organisations address AI-related risks, achieve compliance, and build public and consumer trust in AI systems as they become integral to business strategy and value creation. The services cover critical functions such as assessment, inventory, integration, workflow, and reporting, supporting a systematic approach to responsible AI development and management. KPMG representatives state that these protocols are designed to ensure security, compliance, and ethical standards across deployed AI solutions. Further support will be provided through KPMG Velocity, set to launch later in the year. KPMG Velocity is designed to bring together consulting services, technology solutions, methodologies, and alliances within an AI-focused delivery platform and ecosystem. KPMG is working to keep AI governance frameworks up-to-date as technology and regulatory requirements evolve. Through the integration of ServiceNow's AI Control Tower, clients can automate compliance processes related to AI, ensuring real-time monitoring for regulatory and internal control compliance. The ServiceNow AI Control Tower can be embedded into organisational platforms for ongoing compliance oversight. The AI governance solutions can be used alongside ServiceNow's large language models but are also compatible with other language model platforms. Clients can integrate these services with ServiceNow's Integrated Risk Management software and incorporate the ServiceNow SecOps module, which is aimed at enhancing security for large language model deployments.
