Eluru Collector holds coordination meeting on Intermediate supplementary exams

Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Wednesday (May 7) directed officials to conduct the Intermediate Supplementary Examinations, scheduled to be held from May 12 to 20 in the district, in an efficient manner. Speaking at a coordination meeting here, Ms. Vetriselvi underlined the need for appropriate arrangements to ensure that students do not face any inconvenience. For the 1st year Intermediate supplementary exams (general and vocational), 10,068 students are expected to appear and 3,035 students for 2nd year exams (general and vocational). A total of 34 exam centres have been arranged, she said. First-aid kits should be made available and ANMs (auxiliary nurse midwives) assigned to each centre. Preparations must also be made to ensure an uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply. Mobile phones will not be allowed in exam centres, she said. Ms. Vetriselvi said remedial classes are being held in all colleges for those appearing for the supplementary exams. The students are requested to attend these training sessions, she said, adding that she would make surprise inspections of these classes. RTC officials have been told to run special buses aligned with exam timings. Section 163-B must be enforced in the vicinity of all the exam centres, which should also be under CCTV surveillance. A control room with phone number 08812230197 will coordinate the exam arrangements. Tight security should be in place at strongrooms, and flying squads and sitting squads should be deployed. Women police personnel should be stationed at each exam centre. District Revenue Officer V. Visweshwar Rao, RIO K. Yohan, DIEO T. Shekhar Babu, DPO K. Anuradha, RTC DM B. Vani, principals of Koyyalagudem and Kukkunoor Government Junior Colleges L. Shyam Kumar and K. Srinivasa Rao, and officials from the electricity and postal departments were present.
