The clip of the Chicago apartment was shared by @dazeofjane and has amassed over 640,000 views since it was shared on June 4. Text overlaid on the video reads: "Not me just casually finding out this lights up when I move in." The clip shows the camera zooming in on what appears to be a wood-framed stained-glass window in a bathroom setting. A moment later, the glass window suddenly lights up with a golden glow. A caption shared with the post reads: "The sweetest move in surprise." Viewers on TikTok were amazed by the unique window feature discovered in the viral clip. Can't wait to visit!!" "It's giving Beauty and the Beast [the animation film] vibes," another commenter said. A TikTok user said, "the baths are gonna be ethereal." "I'm so jealous rn [right now]," said one commenter, and another wrote, "You are so lucky. How can I not feel envious." A commenter said, "Adding to the list of things to make for my future home." According to a study published in the International Journal of Culture and Art Studies in October 2024, "the stained-glass industry has seen notable growth and is expected to maintain this positive trend in the foreseeable future." Recent data has shown that the global stained-glass market was valued at $4.1 billion in 2022 and projected to reach $6.8 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.3 percent from 2023 to 2032, the study noted. The viral video comes amid soaring housing costs in the United States. A surge in rent prices during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an "unprecedented affordability crisis," with around half of U.S. renter households reportedly burdened by housing costs, according to a 2024 report from the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University. Around 12.1 million households are "severely cost-burdened," with more than half of their income spent on housing expenses. Millions of potential homebuyers in the country have also been "priced out of the market by elevated home prices and interest rates," the report found. The spike in home prices was reported in 97 of the top 100 markets, with higher rises in the northeast and Midwest regions. Do you have a home interior-related video or story to share?
