Brunch review: FamilyFest in Dubai

When a new family brunch hits the scene, it gets parents talking. And FamilyFest at Address Beach Resort is one of those that will make it out of the group chat. And this one was worth the wait. Formerly held at Caesars Palace, FamilyFest made its long-awaited comeback at the end of 2024 at Address Beach Resort, JBR, thanks to the Family Brunch team (you'll know them from other kid-approved faves like Into The Jungle, Agrabah and Under The Sea). This one keeps things simple – there's no theme, just relying on its super Ain Dubai views (and Magic Phil) to get the crowds through the doors. It works. Held at the hotel's Li Brasil, the terrace is ideal for al fresco dining during cooler weather, with primo views spanning out across the Arabian Gulf, Bluewaters, Ain Dubai and along to JBR, the Palm and beyond. It's a perfect location for visitors and anyone interested in a starry-eyed Insta snap. (Credit: Family Fest at Address Beach Resort) This one will impress the whole gang, no matter the age. Roaming entertainers blow up balloon animals, twirl ribbons and balance on unicycles. There's a special kids' area set up with slime making, face painting, colouring and more. Plus, there's a singing Encanto princess, and of course, the highlight for young brunchers – Magic Phil and all the fun and silliness he brings with him. The kids are entertained (and fuelled up) from start to finish, with the kids' buffet front and centre for hungry mini brunchers. All the usual suspects, including pizza, sliders and fries, are on the line-up. There's also a salad bar, cheese table, carvery and a selection of curries, pastas and grills to pick from too. The perfect selection for even the fussiest of eaters. It's all decent fare, and while it's not going to blow you away, this is a family brunch that does a solid job at catering for everyone. (Credit: Family Fest at Address Beach Resort) Desserts catch the eye (literally, they're found found right by the entrance), a sweet display in a rainbow of vibrant hues. Tuck into macarons, cakes, tarts, cookies and candies, plus a soft-serve ice cream machine and candy floss (have the wet wipes ready). But, as with all the Family Brunch line-up, it's on the pricey side, so it's not one you'll be rushing to every week. But then nor should it be, as where's the fun and excitement in that? A special occasion fun day out with the gang, Family Fest will tick a lot of boxes. And we guarantee you'll be sticking it in the parents' group chat again and again. Dhs350 (soft drinks), Dhs450 (house beverages), Dhs550 (sparkling), Dhs750 (bubbly), Dhs150 (kids aged four-11), free (kids under four).
