Investor AB Unit to Buy Nova Biomedical in $2.2 Billion Deal
A unit of Investor AB, the investment firm controlled by the Wallenberg family, has struck an agreement to acquire Nova Biomedical for an enterprise value of $2.2 billion. The merger with the acquiring unit, US-based Advanced Instruments, will create a portfolio of products serving the biopharmaceutical and clinical markets in more than 100 countries, according to a statement on Wednesday. For the full year 2024, the combined business generated sales of $621 million with an adjusted profit margin of about 30%.

Swedish Wallenberg Family Anoints Next Generation With New Posts
The Wallenbergs, a Swedish industrial dynasty rooted in the nineteenth century, took a major step toward its succession planning by appointing some of the family's sixth generation to the boards of key business interests. Private equity group EQT AB said Jacob Wallenberg Jr, born 1992, was being proposed as a new board member. The family's investment vehicle Investor AB separately announced that Fred Wallenberg, born 1990, would be put forward to its board of directors at the next annual general meeting.
