Lamar CISD instructor shot, killed in 'incident involving her husband,' officials say
The Brief
A Lamar CISD instructional coach was reportedly shot and killed on Sunday at a home in Rosenberg.
When asked about the incident, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office sent FOX 26 a letter from the Lamar CISD superintendent.
The letter says Iona Pollard was "tragically killed in an incident involving her husband," who also works with the district.
An instructional coach with Lamar CISD has died after a shooting inside a Rosenberg home, according to officials.
What they're saying
The shooting was reported at a home at the intersection of Fort Hill Lane and Rocky Knoll Lane.
Neighbors at the scene tell FOX 26 that they heard gunshots from the home at about 12:30 p.m.

When asked about the shooting, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office sent FOX 26 a letter from the Lamar CISD superintendent.
According to the letter, Iona Pollard, an instructional at George Junior High School, was killed in "an incident involving her husband, David."
According to the district's website, David Pollard is a School Safety Coordinator with Lamar CISD.
The district says Iona leaves behind two children, who are also a part of the district.
"The loss of their mother and the circumstances of this tragedy are incredibly heartbreaking. We extend our deepest condolences to the Pollard children, their families, friends, and all who knew Iona, particularly her colleagues and students at George Junior High," wrote Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens.

Alex Preister says he was shocked to see what was happening outside his front door Sunday afternoon.
"So around 12:30, I was taking my daughter to burn some energy off, you know, getting ready for the Super Bowl and then police crews were barring down the street, and they went to my neighbor's house, and they approached the house and I saw them apprehend him, and he went peacefully into the vehicle," Preister said.
Priester says this tragedy will rattle this tight-knit Rosenberg neighborhood.
"They connected with us and the husband, the father we usually talk share stories about work, about life, about our kids, raising families, we often share food like barbecue, you know, just sharing our love for each other," he said.
