Wisconsin man arrested after allegedly threatening to 'murder' deputy, foot chase
MINERAL POINT, Wis. (WFRV) – A 42-year-old man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon following a series of threatening and disorderly actions that led to a brief foot chase and his arrest in a public restroom. According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 4:10 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on Clowney Street in Mineral Point involving Matthew Rohowetz. Two suspects sentenced for their roles in 2023 North Fond du Lac shooting Authorities say Rohowetz had sent threatening and profane messages, including one stating an intent to 'murder' a member of the sheriff's office. When officers located Rohowetz, he initially refused to cooperate and fled on foot after they explained the legal consequences of violating bond conditions. A Taser was deployed but was ineffective. Rohowetz was later found hiding in the women's restroom of a High Street establishment, where he initially refused to exit but ultimately surrendered at around 4:53 p.m. Rohowetz was booked into the Iowa County Jail and is facing the following charges: Disorderly conduct (misdemeanor) Resisting an officer (misdemeanor) Battery or threat to a law enforcement officer (felony) Five counts of felony bail jumping Green Bay house fire causes $50,000 in damages, displaces one child and one adult He remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing in Iowa County Circuit Court. Deputies in Wisconsin looking for several suspects following robbery at Farm & Fleet
DODGEVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southwest Wisconsin say they are looking to identify multiple suspects involved in a robbery at a Farm & Fleet. According to a release from the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, deputies are looking to identify two men who allegedly stole from a Farm & Fleet in Dodgeville at 7:15 p.m. on February 6. Dead dog found in unoccupied Two Rivers apartment, owner identified and arrested Officials say the two suspects eventually left the store after stealing a Stihl Chainsaw, a M18 Sawzall, a M18 Hex Impact Kit, and two M12 heated jackets. The suspects then reportedly put the stolen items into an occupied vehicle that left the store and headed westbound on Highway YZ. Authorities say they are asking the public to help identify the two pictured suspects and vehicle as well as an additional unidentified subject(s) that were already inside the vehicle.
