Energy, minerals: Pakistan, Turkiye explore collaboration opportunities
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a meeting with Irfan Neziroglu, ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, on Friday. The discussions centered enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including offshore and onshore exploration, as well as collaboration in critical minerals. During the meeting, Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed profound gratitude for Türkiye's unwavering support to Pakistan during the India-Pakistan. The minister highlighted the immense potential for expanding cooperation in the petroleum and mineral sectors, noting that both countries could benefit from joint ventures, technology transfer, and investment opportunities. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to fostering a robust partnership with Türkiye in energy and resource development. Turkiye's state owned company Turkish Petroleum Corporation has been provisionally awarded two onshore blocks in the recent bidding round on May 13,2025. One of the awarded blocks is located in Balochistan — Ziarat North, where the JV partners are MariEnergies (33.16 per cent, operator), OGDCL (24.87 per cent), PPL (24.87 per cent), TPOC (10 per cent), and Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) (7.10 per cent). The other successful bid is for the Sukhpur-II block in Sindh, with the following JV structure: Prime (25 per cent, operator), OGDCL (30 per cent), Mari Energies (30 per cent), and TPOC (15 per cent). Moreover, Turkish Petroleum has also executed a Joint Bidding Agreement with a consortium of Pakistan companies (Mari Energies, OGDCL, PPL) for participation in upcoming Offshore Bid Round 2025. Ambassador Neziroglu reaffirmed Türkiye's dedication to strengthening ties with Pakistan across all sectors, particularly energy and mining. He praised Pakistan's efforts in creating a conducive environment for foreign investment and expressed optimism about future collaborations that would drive mutual economic growth. Turkish envoy meets Punjab CM; his country praised for its support
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly welcomed Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu, and expressed her gratitude for Türkiye's unequivocal support for Pakistan against Indian aggression. She said Pakistan is grateful for Türkiye's unwavering solidarity on diplomatic, moral and strategic forums against Indian aggression. Chief Minister discussed fraternal feelings, trade cooperation, regional peace and cultural ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. She acknowledged President Erdogan's statement about supporting Pakistan in good and bad. She said all Pakistanis have heartfelt love and devotion for their brothers and sisters in Turkiye. She said Pakistani nation will always remember Türkiye's recent unconditional support against Indian aggression. Türkiye pledges humanitarian aid
The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu has reaffirmed brotherly ties between the two countries and expressing strong interest in expanding humanitarian cooperation. He expressed these views during his visit the headquarters of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in Lahore on Thursday. Dr Neziroglu was received by President Alkhidmat Foundation Dr Hafeezur Rehman, Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri and other senior officials of the organisation. During his visit, the envoy was given a comprehensive tour of the Alkhidmat Complex and was briefed on the Foundation's wide-ranging relief and development initiatives, both in Pakistan and globally. "Our nations have always supported each other in times of hardship. Our collaboration with Turkish humanitarian organisations is a source of pride," he stated.

CJP highlights long-standing, cordial judicial ties with Türkiye
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi highlighted the long-standing and cordial judicial relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in mutual respect, shared legal traditions, and deep cultural ties. Irfan Neziroglu, ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, called on the chief justice at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad. During the meeting, the chief justice warmly welcomed the esteemed guest and expressed his sincere gratitude for the exceptional hospitality extended by the Turkish judiciary during his recent official visit to Türkiye. The chief justice had visited Türkiye to participate in the 63rd Anniversary celebrations of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye. The chief justice appreciated the ongoing cooperation in the field of judicial education and capacity building of various tiers of judicial system. Underscoring the significance of mutual learning and exchange of judicial best practices, the chief justice emphasised the need to broaden the scope of collaboration to include Pakistan's district judiciary. He noted that structured exposure to Türkiye's advancements in court management, digitisation of judicial processes, and application of Artificial Intelligence in judicial systems would be highly beneficial for judicial officers at all levels. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the judiciaries of Pakistan and Türkiye through sustained institutional engagements and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Turkish envoy congratulates Aleem Khan on victory against India
ISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu called on Federal Minister for Communications and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Abdul Aleem Khan and congratulated him on Pakistan's brilliant victory against India. Aleem Khan expressed gratitude for Turkiye's support for Pakistan and said the people of both countries always have relations of brotherhood and goodwill for each other. He said Pakistan remained responsible, courageous and expressed brave behaviour in response to Indian aggression and due to the hard work of the Pakistani Armed Forces and especially historic performance of the Pakistan Air Force; Allah Almighty has granted Pakistan a historic victory. Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu said the long-standing friendly relations between Turkiye and Pakistan are growing day by day and like in the past, Turkiye will continue to fully support Pakistan in any difficulty. He also expressed good wishes for Pakistan on behalf of the President and people of Turkiye on this important success. In this meeting between Turkish Ambassador Dr Neziroglu and Aleem Khan, in addition to matters of mutual interest, there was a detailed discussion on the 'Kazan Forum' to be held in this week, in which various countries of the region, including Turkiye and Pakistan, are participating. Aleem Khan said Pakistan is keen on promoting international cooperation, for which access and land connectivity from Pakistan to Central Asian States, Russia and Europe are of utmost importance. Aleem Khan told the Turkish Ambassador that Pakistan will offer trade corridors to other countries in the Kazan Forum, while options for trade routes with China, Afghanistan and Iran from Pakistan already exist, and further discussions can be held on rail, road, sea and air connections. Turkish Ambassador Neziroglu, while describing Pakistan as the best country for investment, said that the representation in the Kazan Forum is encouraging, which will have a positive impact on the economic condition of the region, as well.
