BIC Set for Thrilling Season-Finale to National Race Day on Friday

Manama: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', is gearing up to host the seventh and final round of National Race Day for the 2024/2025 season this Friday, April 25. According to Bahrain News Agency, the event will feature two of Bahrain's premier circuit racing series, the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC). Organised in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, the action-packed event is set to commence at 4pm and continue until 9pm under the circuit's floodlights. Fans are invited to witness the racing spectacle, with tickets priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Spectators will have access to the Beyon Grandstand, ensuring excellent views of the 2.554-kilometre Inner Track. Tickets are available online at via the BIC Hotline at +973-17450000, or at the gate. In the BTCC, Isa Ebrahim, who achieved a double victory in the previous round, aims to finish the season strongly in his Honda Civic. He will compete against Moaaz Elzahrawi, Hamad Khamis, Ali Baqer, and Andreas Buelow, all driving Honda Civics, along with a Radio Bahrain entrant in a Honda Integra. The BTCC schedule includes practice at 4pm, qualifying at 5.10pm, with the first race at 6.34pm and the final race of the season at 8.09pm. In the BMC, Mohamad Alzaidan, who won the 600cc category last round, and Saud Al Toura, winner of the 1,000cc category, are both set to compete. Alzaidan will ride a Kawasaki ZX6, facing participants such as Shaikh Khalid Al Khalifa and Mohamed Al Sadiq on Triumph Daytonas, and others on various models. Al Toura will compete on a BMW S 1000 RR, alongside Abdulrahman Al Tayeb and other racers on different bikes. The BMC practice session is scheduled for 4.35pm, with qualifying at 5.45pm, and the race at 7.19pm. The podium ceremony is slated to start at 8.50pm. TDT | Manama The grand finale fires up Bahrain International Circuit – the proud Home of Motorsport in the Middle East – is gearing up for a thrilling climax to the 2024 National Race Day season, as the seventh and final round takes place on Friday, April 25. Motorsport fans can expect fierce action across the Bahrain Drag Bikes Championship and the ever-competitive Bahrain Circuit Racing Championship, all packed into a five-hour festival of speed under the floodlights. Gates open at 4 PM with racing running through until 9 PM. Spectators are invited to witness the adrenaline live, with entry priced at just BD 2 for adults and BD 1 for children aged 3 to 12. Race schedule The evening kicks off with practice for the Circuit Racing Championship at 4:00 PM, followed by qualifying at 5:10 PM. Two main races are slated for 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM, each spanning 15 laps. Meanwhile, the Drag Bike Championship roars into action at 4:30 PM with free practice, qualifying at 5:45 PM, and a 14-lap finale set for 7:20 PM. The event is hosted by Bahrain International Circuit in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Circuit Racing Committee, Bahrain Motorcycle Committee, and Autocross & Drift Committee. Spotlight on the contenders All eyes will be on Isa Ebrahim, who dominated the sixth round last month with a clean sweep and is now gunning for championship glory in his Honda Civic. But the road to victory is lined with talent: Muath Al-Zahrawi, Hamad Khamis, Ali Baqer, and Andreas Piolo are all in contention, racing in identical Honda Civics.
