PUNA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Big Island police have began a homicide investigation after two early morning shootings in Puna on March 4 left a 25-year-old woman dead. Police are looking for the suspect, who they say is 28-year-old Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey of Mountain View. Puna patrol officers responded to a residence on Hibiscus Street in Mountain View shortyl after midnight after receiving calls from a woman saying that Fourshey, who is her daughter's ex-boyfriend, had come to her residence looking for her daughter. Ala Moana shooting raises questions over Hawaiʻi's sensitive places law After being told that his ex-girlfriend was not at the residence, Fourshey allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot at the caller's husband multiple times. The man was not struck by any bullets and Fourshey left the area. Upon investigation of the shooting, police received a call from Fourshey's ex-girlfriend, who was calling from her sister's home on Plumeria Street in Mountain View. According to her, Fourshey had showed up at the residence, kicked in the front door and shot at the sisters multiple times, striking her responders immediately showed up to the residence, where they attempted life-saving measures on the victim, who was later identified as 25-year-old Latisha Soares. Soares was transported to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries just after 2 a.m. Authorities continued their investigation, which is currently being investigated as a second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Big Island police begin arson investigation following suspicious brush fires While investigating, authorities found that Fourshey resides on Hibiscus Street, and police located his vehicle, but not his person. Authorities were also able to determine that Fourshey had been back at his residence following the shootings. Fourshey is described as being part Hawaiian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
