HM King receives letter from Al Azhar Grand Imam

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a letter of from His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders. In the letter, HE Dr. El Tayeb extended his thanks and appreciation for His Majesty's the King's patronage of the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference, titled 'One Nation, Shared Destiny,' held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on February 19-20. HE Dr. Al Tayeb noted that the conference took place at a critical juncture for the Islamic world, where its 15-century civilisation faces significant challenges. The Grand Imam praised the King's dedication to the Arab and Islamic communities, highlighting the warm reception extended, which reflects the King's profound appreciation for Islamic scholars at Al Azhar and their role in promoting peace and the values of Islam. Contributions Dr. Al Tayeb emphasised that both Al Azhar and the Council of Muslim Elders value their relationship with Bahrain, which has made substantial contributions to promoting the true, moderate, and peaceful nature of Islam through joint international conferences.

He emphasized that Cairo's firm rejection of these schemes reflects its historic commitment to the Palestinian cause. Speaking on the sidelines of the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference in Bahrain, Al-Habbash stressed that the true objective behind displacement is the eradication of Palestinian presence, a move that directly violates international law. He commended Arab nations, especially Egypt, for their unwavering support in defending Palestinian rights. Al-Habbash highlighted that Egypt and the broader Arab world are sending a clear message: Palestinian rights are non-negotiable, and displacement or attempts to undermine Palestinian identity will not succeed amid strong Arab and Islamic solidarity. Discussing the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference, Al-Habbash emphasized that intra-Muslim dialogue is crucial before engaging with external entities. He noted that internal divisions must be bridged to restore unity, in alignment with the Qur'an's teachings and the Prophet Muhammad's vision. He described the conference as a valuable opportunity to foster reconciliation between different Islamic sects and strengthen the Muslim world's internal cohesion. Al-Habbash underscored that Islamic unity is a strategic necessity to counter external threats targeting the Muslim world. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting today at the Qudaibiya Palace. At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet extended its highest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, on the occasion of the anniversary of the National Action Charter. The Cabinet also congratulated the people of Bahrain on this national occasion, highlighting the remarkable achievements made across various sectors, inspired by the charter's vision, and contributing to the nation's progress. The Cabinet then reviewed the preparations for hosting the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The meeting commended the dedicated efforts of the relevant committees and authorities working collectively to ensure the success of the conference and the provision of all necessary facilities for the distinguished guests. In a significant move to support social welfare, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister directed the doubling of social assistance payments for beneficiaries of social security and disability allowances during the holy month of Ramadan. He instructed the Ministry of Social Development to disburse these payments ahead of Ramadan to alleviate the financial burdens of low-income families during the sacred month. Furthermore, the Cabinet directed government ministries and entities to continue advancing digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accessibility of public services. The meeting praised the launch of the "Hakomati" application as part of the government's commitment to digital governance and expressed gratitude to the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired by the Minister of Interior, for its efforts in this domain. The Cabinet also approved several memorandums, including: A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects on enhancing investment procedures in the real estate sector in Bahrain. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an amendment to the executive regulations of the Civil Service Law. A memorandum concerning a mutual cooperation agreement between Bahrain's Customs Affairs and the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency. A memorandum on a cooperation program between the Ministry of Health in Bahrain and its counterpart in Saudi Arabia for collaboration in the healthcare sector. A memorandum from the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments on launching an electronic service for private notaries to facilitate real estate transactions through digital integration with relevant government entities. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government's response to three proposals from the Council of Representatives and a proposed law from the Shura Council. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum from the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the work of the National Committee responsible for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of Bahrain's initiatives presented at the 33rd Arab Summit. The Cabinet was also briefed on several ministerial reports, including: The outcomes of the visit of Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs to Bahrain. The results of the official visit by the Minister of Works to the UAE to engage with counterparts following a Cabinet resolution. Bahrain's participation in the Ministerial Committee for Food Safety under the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretariat. Key events of Manama as the 2024 Arab Media Capital. Bahrain's participation in the High Committee Meeting on Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development. Bahrain's performance in the 2023 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to national development and strategic initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth, social welfare, and digital governance.
