And the much-loved four-star hotel won the Best Island Hotel Award at the glitzy ceremony last night. The hotel is popular with guests who love nature and spa breaks and is part of the Crerar Hotels Group. The firm has a collection of ten hotels and inns across Scotland and the Lake District. And its sister hotel, Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa, located in the idyllic town of Inveraray, was also awarded 'Highly Commended' in the 'Best Country Hotel' category at the event last night. Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa General Manager Marc Adams picked up the accolade on behalf of the team. We are ecstatic to have won the title of Best Island Hotel at the highly esteemed Prestige Awards. Marc Adams He was joined by Head Chef Noel Escobal and Morag McLachlan, the Spa and Leisure Manager. Marc, who only joined the hotel in spring last year, said: 'We are ecstatic to have won the title of Best Island Hotel at the highly esteemed Prestige Awards. 'On behalf of myself and the wonderful team, it is an honour that our hard work, commitment and passion for truly authentic hospitality is recognised at this level. "Well done to our colleagues at Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa who are also celebrating a win.' He continued: "What makes this award even more special is the fact that it is voted for by the public. "Which means our guests continue to have an exceptional guest experience, whether that's for a spa retreat or an island getaway with the family." The award comes after Crerar Hotels carried out a multi-million-pound investment across a number of its hotels. The Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa underwent a £4million refurbishment as part of this investment. The revamp focused on improving its 75 bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as creating a new sea deck and adding luxury suites. It also launched the Oran na Mara Bistro, which has an AA Rosette. The investment also included launching Driftwood Spa, which is a brand-new wellness facility. It has four treatment rooms, a 17-metre swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms. While its outdoor facilities include a 'Wilderness Spa' with a hot tub, sauna and swim deck for wild swimming. Since the transformation, the hotel has become well known for its tranquil spa breaks and its luxurious rooms and suites for those looking to explore the island and beyond.
