Louise Minchin and Steph McGovern talk books at hotel event
Louise Minchin and Steph McGovern will be discussing the gripping twists and turns of their psychological thrillers, Isolation Island and Deadline with fellow crime writer Caroline Corcoran.
The event, presented by The Mold Bookshop, will be at Beaufort Park Hotel, near Mold, on Friday, July 11, at 7pm.

Louise Minchin's Isolation Island transports readers to a perilous reality show on a remote Scottish island - where survival is the ultimate prize, but escape is impossible. Meanwhile, Steph McGovern's Deadline places TV reporter Rose at the heart of a terrifying, real-time nightmare, where one wrong move could cost her everything.
Louise is a British journalist, television presenter, and author, she began her career in broadcasting with the BBC World Service, later joining BBC Radio 5 Live in 1998. She became a familiar face on BBC Breakfast, initially as a relief presenter before taking on a permanent role in 2012. She remained a key figure on the show for nearly a decade, co-hosting alongside Bill Turnbull, Charlie Stayt, and Dan Walker.

Beyond journalism, Louise is an accomplished triathlete and has competed in endurance events, including representing Great Britain in her age group at the World Triathlon Championships
Steph is a British journalist and television presenter, best known for her work as a business correspondent and host. She worked as a producer for financial news for the BBC before becoming the main business presenter on BBC Breakfast.
In 2020, she launched her own daytime talk show, Steph's Packed Lunch, on Channel 4, which ran until 2023. Beyond broadcasting, McGovern has been recognised for her contributions to engineering and vocational skills, receiving an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering.
