Drone with thermal camera, K9 help catch Issaquah burglary suspect
The Issaquah Police Department says they arrested a man accused of trying to break into a business with the help of a Redmond K9′s super sniffer and a thermal imaging drone. Just after midnight on March 26, the department says someone triggered a burglary alarm at a business near Northwest Mall Street and 17th Avenue Northwest. Checking the video surveillance, officers saw someone enter the locked, fenced-in area, who wasn't supposed to be there, and called for backup. Redmond's K9 Chewie arrived along with deputies from King County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Sammamish Police Department to help. K9 Chewie tracked the man's path from the business into some nearby woods. With the help a drone, officers used a thermal imaging camera to search for the man. An officer says they found the man hiding in a nearby ditch. The man was arrested and booked into jail.

Issaquah police search for man accused of antisemitic, racist graffiti
The Issaquah Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a man they say was involved in multiple incidents of antisemitic and racially biased graffiti around town. Detectives say they are actively investigating the case, and surveillance footage has provided a glimpse of the person responsible. The man is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old. They say he was caught on camera tagging a trail on Jan. 1 and then the 4th Avenue overpass area on Jan. 22. 'We stand firm in our belief that hate and bias have no place in Issaquah,' the department said in a news release. KIRO 7 previously reported on two incidents of antisemitism in Issaquah. Last week, a high school senior found hateful posters and stickers outside of The Garage – A teen café near his school. 'I'm part of several minorities and targeted groups – I'm queer, I'm trans, I'm a Jew and these specific stickers were targeted against Jewish people,' Leo Clouse told KIRO 7. He says he took pictures, then ripped off the offensive items and notified the café. Over the weekend of Jan. 26, a bicyclist discovered racist and antisemitic graffiti along the East Lake Sammamish Trail. 'I saw some pretty offensive, Nazi, 'Heil Hitler' graffiti right off the bike path,' he told KIRO 7. The Issaquah Police Department is encouraging community members to report any new incidents of graffiti so they can allocate resources more effectively and ensure timely removal.
