Teams wanted for fun challenge at 2025 Mold Carnival
Mold Town Council's carnival committee is calling on local businesses, groups, clubs, pubs - and everyone in between - to get involved in their It's A Knockout challenge. The carnival takes place on Sunday, July 6, at Maes Bodlonfa Park, and this year promises even more fun with the return of this wacky, action-packed team competition inspired by the classic BBC show. Gather a team of 10 adults, bring your energy, and compete for the title of Mold Carnival Knockout Champions 2025! This year, we wanted to bring something a bit different, and nostalgic, to the event to get the community involved. "I loved watching It's A Knockout growing up - it looked so much fun. So we're inviting teams to enter the competition, all teams can also join in the carnival parade pre game; wear fancy dress or your logo'ed T-shirts and make some noise as the parade makes it's way through the town onto the carnival fields, really make a day of it. Set in the idyllic Lanark Agricultural Market in the heart of the beautiful Clydeside, the market will take place once a month becoming the ultimate destination for foodies and craft lovers. Meanwhile, the historic Stonehouse bandstand will be filled with the sound of a range of music as it provides the spectacular stage for a community festival. Friends of Stonehouse Park and Avondale Radio are teaming up to run the Bandstand Beatz event on Saturday, May 10, showcasing a host of talented local musicians – and with organisers saying 'tickets are flying' for the free event. It takes place at the century-old bandstand in the town's Alexander Hamilton memorial park from 1pm to 7pm, during what is the park's centenary year.
