‘It Takes a Village' holds annual prom dress giveaway
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Hundreds of girls said 'yes' to the dress at the annual 'It Takes A Village' prom dress giveaway in Peoria.
Here's how it works: girls walk in and pick out their perfect dress, along with any shoes and accessories, all for free.
It Takes a Village's CEO and founder, Dr. Bernice Gordon-Young, said the best part is helping young women find the perfect dress.
'Not one young lady is left here without a dress. Everyone has left with a dress, shoes, hair accessories, nail polish, makeup, you name it. They're leaving here with the entire ensemble for a great prom night,' said Gordon-Young.
This is the 7th year they've put on the prom dress giveaway.
