iOS 26's Liquid Glass Design Suddenly Reminds Everyone Of Steve Jobs: 'He Would Fire...'
Last Updated: Would Steve Jobs approve of Liquid Glass display on iOS 26? Steve Jobs, the late co-founder of tech giant Apple, wouldn't have greenlit the liquid glass resign on iOS 26. That was the sentiment shared far and wide by Apple fanboys after the company's WWDC 2025 concluded on Monday. Apple's iOS 26 update will replace iOS 19 and is being touted as the biggest update to the operating system iOS 7 version. The all-new liquid glass design gives sidebars, buttons, and toggles a transparent, glass-like appearance making the UI appear and feel more fluid. This design, which has been developed over the past year, is plastered into the UI that adapts to the wallpapers and iPhone background. However, the biggest talking point of the WWDC 2025 event, the liquid display, has also been the most polarising feature of the upcoming iOS 26. For one, the strongest criticism against the new display feature is that it hinders readability – the blend of Control Center with icons or the lockscreen in the background. Get the drift? (X / Screengrab) Liquid Glass Bad The developers who are on the beta version of iOS 26 raised their concerns almost immediately. 'iOS26 beta1: Cannot understand the concept. Literally cannot see anything over especially when my background is bright. All this see-through distortions seriously affecting the visibility. This is not the problem of the text color. Changing text to black does not change anything," a user, trying out the resigned display, pointed out the flaws. 'I've been using #iOS26 for an hour and I already think the notifications are causing eye strain because of how much harder the text is to see with the 'Liquid Glass" UI. Hopefully this gets improved in future Beta updates or I'll have to use a new wallpaper!" another noted, while sharing the state of notifications on the lockscreen. Steve Jobs Flashbacks 'Steve Jobs would have fired everyone." Jobs, a popular hater of 'bad design", wouldn't have approved of the liquid display, Apple users declared. WWDC gave me hope—reality gave bad UX experience!! @Apple #WWDC25 — Kush Prajapati (@kushprajapati96) June 10, 2025 steve jobs is in heaven crying — vittorio (@IterIntellectus) June 10, 2025 In an old but famous interview, Jobs threw plenty of shade at Microsoft for lacking taste. 'The only problem with Microsoft is that they don't have taste. They have absolutely no taste. They don't think of original ideas and they don't bring much culture into their product. Proportionally spaced fonts come from typesetting and beautiful books where one gets the idea. If it weren't for Mac, they wouldn't have them in their products. I am not saddened by Microsoft's success. I have no problem with their success. They have earned their success, for the most part. I've problem with the fact that they make really third rate products," Jobs said. iOS 26 brought deja vu to people who used Microsoft Vista back in 2007. Apple just innovated "Aero Glass" from Windows Vista, and it's called Liquid Glass 🤨 #WWDC25 — Windows Latest (@WindowsLatest) June 9, 2025 Carl Pei, Elon Musk Nothing CEO Carl Pei doesn't hate the liquid glass. Elon Musk, responding to Tim Cook's post, also shared similar sentiments. Liquid Glass… I kinda love it? 🤷— Carl Pei (@getpeid) June 9, 2025 Easy Fix? Many have suggested decreasing the transparency from the accessibility settings of the iPhone to enhance readability. To fix the readability issue on iOS 26:Go to Accessibility settings and turn on the "Reduce Transparency" Centre looks so much better after this! — Shishir (@ShishirShelke1) June 10, 2025 top videos View all Not everybody is on board with this 'fix". 'Even with 'reduce transparency" enabled, iOS 26's colors make it extremely difficult to read," a user on X wrote. The 'everything is computer' memes, explained
Maybe you've seen a bunch of people on X (formerly known as Twitter) making a bunch of jokes about "Everything is computer" and you might be very, very confused. But we're here to help you out with that and to share some of the funniest posts about this. For starters: President Donald Trump is involved with this one. It all came from something he did on the South Lawn of the White House on Tuesday, in which he threw his support behind Elon Musk and Tesla, with its stock taking a nosedive. And now it's a meme. Let's dive in: Trump said it as he got into a Tesla car -- he was wowed by everything being, well, a computer. If you've never been inside a Tesla, everything is digital. Oh heck yes, it's everywhere. Gladly! Trump: Wow… Everything's computer — Acyn (@Acyn) March 11, 2025 everything is computer — jack (@jackbutcher) March 12, 2025 Wow.
