Last Updated: Would Steve Jobs approve of Liquid Glass display on iOS 26? Steve Jobs, the late co-founder of tech giant Apple, wouldn't have greenlit the liquid glass resign on iOS 26. That was the sentiment shared far and wide by Apple fanboys after the company's WWDC 2025 concluded on Monday. Apple's iOS 26 update will replace iOS 19 and is being touted as the biggest update to the operating system iOS 7 version. The all-new liquid glass design gives sidebars, buttons, and toggles a transparent, glass-like appearance making the UI appear and feel more fluid. This design, which has been developed over the past year, is plastered into the UI that adapts to the wallpapers and iPhone background. However, the biggest talking point of the WWDC 2025 event, the liquid display, has also been the most polarising feature of the upcoming iOS 26. For one, the strongest criticism against the new display feature is that it hinders readability – the blend of Control Center with icons or the lockscreen in the background. Get the drift? Changing text to black does not change anything," a user, trying out the resigned display, pointed out the flaws. Hopefully this gets improved in future Beta updates or I'll have to use a new wallpaper!" another noted, while sharing the state of notifications on the lockscreen.
