Dundee United agree Iurie Iovu deal with further transfers in pipeline for Jim Goodwin ahead of Conference League test
The Tannadice club have thrashed out a fee to sign the Moldova international - who will pen a long-term deal at the club Dundee United have agreed a deal to sign Moldova international Iurie Iovu. United have thrashed out a fee to sign the 22-year-old from Croatian side Istra 1961. The Tannadice club has also agreed terms with the central defender on a long-term deal. Dundee United are now waiting for final paperwork to close the deal and expect the player to arrive in Scotland to finalise his move next week. Iovu came through the ranks of Zimbru Chisinau before he moved to Italy. He has had spells at Cagliari and Venezia before he moved to Croatian side Istra 1961, initially on loan before he made a permanent switch. Jim Goodwin made Iovu a top priority, after letting Declan Gallagher go. The United boss has been impressed with the towering Moldovan who impressed on loan at Alaves B last season. United are making major progress in their summer rebuild. They are hopeful of finalising two or three moves by the end of the week. Goodwin has seen good value in the Eastern European market with the likes of Vicko Sevelj and Kristijan Trapanovski.
