For anyone wanting to explore Croatia, the city is said to have the "perfect summer temperatures", according to a group of travel experts. Temperatures in Pula rarely drop below 10C in the winter, and have highs of 27C in the summer - so remains warm without going too high. Pula is found on the edge of the heart-shaped peninsula in Croatia and has been compared to Italy. Pula has its very own Colosseum, and it's the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers entirely preserved. It's even said to be more intact than its famous counterpart in Rome. The Colosseum in Pula was constructed between 27 BC and AD 68, and is among the world's six largest surviving Roman arenas. The city isn't short on beaches either with Galebove stijene, Jamica Beach, Valsaline and has its own harbour. There's also the Arch of the Sergii, a huge triumphal arch that's the main gateway into its historic centre. It's also known as the Golden Gate and was built to honour a prominent Roman family in Pula. Flight declares mid-air emergency after leaving major Scots airport
The pilot declared the emergency just 30 minutes into the journey A PASSENGER plane heading to Italy has been forced to divert after declaring a mid-air emergency after leaving a major Scottish airport. The Jet2 plane, travelling from Edinburgh to Rome this morning, issued a 700 squawk code, signalling an emergency onboard. And it was scheduled to land in the Italian capital city at around 10.20am. However, the pilot declared the emergency around half an hour into the journey. An emergency squawk is used to identify an aircraft that has a possible issue, which enables it to have priority over other air traffic. Advertisement The plane was then diverted to Birmingham Airport at around 7.30am. Images from FlightRadar24 show that it heads south towards Rome until it flies over Stoke-on-Trent. It then starts to veer off course out to the east. The plane starts to pass Birmingham Airport but circles back, looping around it in the sky.
