Trump's latest approval rating revealed amid ongoing LA riots
A new poll shows that President Donald Trump's approval rating has ticked up slightly in the days following his dramatic crackdown in response to the Los Angeles riots. Trump's approval rating is now at 48 percent, according to the latest Daily Mail tracking poll conducted with J.L. Partners, up one point from last week's 47 percent, when the president was in the middle of a nasty public feud with billionaire and former close friend Elon Musk. The change falls within the survey's 2.3 percent margin of error. The president continues to win the majority of voters support for his approach to illegal immigration, even as the administration's aggressive posture toward deporting illegal immigrants has sparked protests in major cities across the United States. Fifty-five percent of voters favor his approach to illegal immigration while 45 percent disapprove. 'Trump might be inviting criticism on the airwaves, but these numbers show that voters are behind him on his approach to illegal migration,' J.L. Partners co-founder James Johnson told the Daily Mail. The poll included 1,807 registered voters and was conducted between June 10-11. Trump and his administration continue pursuing an aggressive approach to the deportation of illegal immigrants and the subsequent rioting that took place in the streets of Los Angeles. 'If our troops didn't go into Los Angeles, it would be burning to the ground right now, just like so much of their housing burned to the ground,' Trump wrote on social media on Wednesday. 'The great people of Los Angeles are very lucky that I made the decision to go in and help!!!' Trump's decision to send in National Guard troops and United States Marines drew angry condemnation from California Governor Gavin Newsom (pictured) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. But the president remains committed to a forceful response from the federal government, as he has repeatedly condemned Newsom as 'incompetent.' 'The INCOMPETENT Governor of California was unable to provide protection in a timely manner when our Ice Officers, GREAT Patriots they are, were attacked by an out of control mob of agitators, troublemakers, and/or insurrectionists,' he wrote.

Newsom has mounted a significant effort to challenge Trump's authority to send in federal troops to quell the riots, filing lawsuits to block his efforts. He also delivered a major address to Californians on Tuesday night, warning them that the very nature of American democracy was at stake . 'Democracy is under assault right before our eyes – the moment we've feared has arrived,' he said. 'He's taking a wrecking ball to our founding fathers' historic project.'

Polling guru identifies 'low energy' Trump supporters as the key group that will decide future U.S. elections
New polling shows that a key group of voters who helped propel President Donald Trump to victory 2024 are not as enthusiastic about supporting Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections. The polling group J.L. Partners sounded the alarm, outlining the mood of 'mid-propensity voters' (MPVs) in a political analysis memo shared with the Daily Mail. These are people who supported Trump in 2024 but are considered 'low energy;' voters who are not fully committed to voting in the midterm elections. Politically unaligned, 42 percent of these voters identify as Independent or unaffiliated, but supported Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024. Thirty-six percent of them backed Trump while 32 percent chose Harris and 29 percent did not even vote. The mid-propensity voters make up 20 percent of the electorate in the United States, and ranked their likelihood of voting between 4 and 7 out of ten, the memo revealed. The mid-propensity voters who supported Trump are mostly younger, 18-29 and likely to be black, according to the memo. When asked to choose the most important convincing argument for voting in the midterms, the Trump MPVs cited the importance of Republicans keeping their majorities in Congress to help a Republican presidential candidate win in 2028. 'It might seem odd, but it is intuitive when you think about it – these are presidential elections and they are thinking through a presidential election prism,' James Johnson, Co-Founder of J.L. Partners said. J.L. Partners collected a nationally representative sample of 3,041 registered voters across several polls that fielded throughout April and May 2025 reaching 564 MPVs and 229 MPVs who voted for Trump. 'If you are a Republican operative, the best way to get the message across is to make these elections about putting the GOP in the best position to carry the agenda that Trump has championed forward into years to come,' Johnson said. The party in power has historically struggled to keep voters in the presidential election motivated, as the opposition party tends to enjoy a boost in support. As Trump is technically prevented from running for a third term, positioning his successor to the MAGA movement appears paramount for the Republican Party if they want to achieve majorities in 2026. The president's team is already preparing for a likely attempt by Democrats to impeach him, if they win the House majority in 2026. They are also keenly aware that Trump has to deliver on many of his campaign promises to keep his supporters positive. 'We need to pass the tax cuts and avoid a recession,' Trump's longtime pollster, John McLaughlin said to Axios. 'That's the high stakes here. We cannot lose the midterms.'

Poll: Trump's latest approval rating revealed
President Donald Trump 's approval rating rebounded as his tariff sparked terror has subsided and he concludes a successful trip to the Middle East. Trump tracking poll, conducted with J.L. Partners, shows his approval rating now at 50 percent. It is up five points from 45 percent result at the end of his first 100 days over two weeks ago, his lowest point in his second term to date. Trump's approval numbers improved in most political demographics, but the president still struggles to win over some more pessimistic Independents. Among voters 18-29, his approval rating has jumped six points from the previous poll, which demonstrated support from young people falling precipitously by double digits. His support among men has jumped to 58 percent, up seven points and his support ticked up among women by two points to 42 percent. The poll was conducted May 13–14 among a sample of 1,003 registered voters with a 3.1 percent margin of error. Among Republicans, Trump's rating jumped nine points to a stunning 94 percent. Even more Democrats are more supportive of the president as his rating jumped nine points to 21 percent. The president continues to slide among Independents, however, down seven points from the previous poll. His approval rating jumped among Hispanics by 15 points and 16 points among black Americans. Trump's approval is back at 50 percent - a serious win for the President,' James Johnson, Co-Founder of J.L. Partners, told the Daily Mail about the results. Johnson cited Trump's successful deals on trade and tariffs as the 'most likely' drivers of his numbers improving as well as his successful trip to the Middle East. 'The most important thing this shows is that Trump can bounce back when some of his voters waver,' he said. 'People who were concerned about the sense of direction and strength after tariffs reversals are now back on board as they see the President doing what they feel he does best: making deals.' Trump began the week making a deal with China to suspend some of his more draconian tariffs as negotiations continue on some kind of trade deal. The stock market roared back at the news, calming investors who felt the 120 percent tariffs on China were unworkable for the American economy. The poll was conducted as Trump embarked on his first major foreign trip touting trillion-dollar foreign investments in the U.S. Trump began his trip celebrating the news that the last living American hostage Edan Alexander was released by Hamas. As he traveled to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates, he was warmly received and promoted peace in the Middle East. 'I believe it is God's job to sit in judgment, my job, to defend America and to promote the fundamental interest of stability, prosperity, and peace,' Trump said during a speech to Saudi Arabia's leaders on Tuesday. 'That's what I really want to do.' Trump met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday, lifting sanctions on his nation, and urged him to normalize ties with Israel. He also trumpeted the successful investment agreements with Middle East that surpassed a trillion dollars. 'This was a fantastic moment for our country, everybody is talking about it, the respect shown to our country is incredible,' Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as his trip concluded. Trump also successfully negotiated a ceasefire between Pakistan and India last weekend, adding to his efforts to make peace in hot spots around the world . The president's attempt to achieve peace between Ukraine and Russia remains elusive, although talks continued this week in Turkey with the respective parties. Trump expressed hope that peace talks could be made with a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 'We have to meet, he and I will meet, I think we will solve it or maybe not,' he said.
