Jordan Armed Forces Open Recruitment for High School Graduates The General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army / Directorate of Personnel Affairs / Military Recruitment Center has announced the opening of recruitment for a number of male applicants holding a passing General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) in the Scientific or Literary streams, for the position of Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), under specific conditions. اضافة اعلان Application Process: Interested individuals must apply online through the official website of the Directorate of Personnel Affairs / Military Recruitment Center: The application portal will be activated free of charge starting at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025, and will remain open until the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025. Applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted via SMS, either through the website or to the phone number they provided in their application. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: Must be Jordanian. Age: Must be at least 18 years old, born no earlier than January 1, 1995. Education: Must hold a passing Tawjihi certificate in either the Scientific or Literary stream, with a minimum average of 65% and a score of at least 70% in English. Height: Minimum of 160 cm, with weight proportionate to height. Health: Must be medically fit for military service. Interview: Must pass a personal interview conducted by the specialized committee. English Proficiency: Must pass the English language test. Character: Must have good conduct and no prior convictions of felony or moral misconduct. Service History: Must not have previously served in any military or civil capacity in the Jordan Armed Forces or security services. Required Documents: Personal Details Form: Completed as per instructions; will be sent via SMS from the Recruitment Center. National ID: Valid, non-expired magnetic ID + certified copy. Tawjihi Transcript: Original or certified copy. Recent Photos: Four (4) passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) with white background. Birth Certificate: Original or certified copy. Family Book: Certified copy of father's page or certified death certificate showing father's place of birth if deceased. Military Service Book: With valid deferment. Military Parent Proof (if applicable): Original or certified copy of retirement decision, or written proof that a parent is currently serving, injured, or martyred in military/security forces. Application Fee: 12 JOD for application and medical examination fees. Important Notes: All data must be accurately entered through the website, and all documents must be uploaded in PDF format. Applications submitted outside the official portal will not be considered. Any application that does not meet the stated criteria, is incomplete, or contains uncertified documents will be rejected.

Bank al Etihad and Invest Bank in Jordan's Largest Strategic Merger Deal Bank al Etihad and Investbank have announced that their respective Boards of Directors have approved moving forward with a strategic transaction under which Bank al Etihad will acquire 100% of the issued share capital of Investbank. اضافة اعلان The transaction will be executed through a capital increase by Bank al Etihad, via a private share issuance allocated entirely to Investbank shareholders, in exchange for transferring full ownership of Investbank's shares to Bank al Etihad in preparation for initiating the merger process of Investbank into Bank al Etihad (the merging bank), and in accordance with the legal and regulatory frameworks. This merger marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Jordan's banking sector. The resulting unified institution, Bank al Etihad, will possess enhanced capital and operational capabilities, with capital reaching JOD 325.2 million post-transaction, shareholder equity approaching JOD 1 billion, and combined total assets estimated at nearly JOD 11 billion - reinforcing the bank's position as one of the country's largest national banking institutions. This transaction is also fully aligned with the Central Bank of Jordan's vision to encourage banking consolidation, aiming to create stronger financial institutions capable of navigating economic challenges and serving as key partners in driving national economic growth. The merger represents a well-considered strategic move that seeks to strengthen local presence while enabling broader regional expansion. By creating a more agile, resilient, and geographically diverse banking institution, the merged bank will be better positioned to serve a wider base of retail and business clients, offering comprehensive and integrated financial solutions that meet evolving market needs. Both banks remain fully committed to preserving all current employees, recognizing the critical role of human capital in ensuring operational continuity and organizational balance, and reaffirming their dedication to providing a stable work environment that empowers talent through this next phase. As part of the post-merger leadership structure, Mr. Basem Salfiti will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank al Etihad, while Mr. Fahmi Abu Khadra will assume the role of Vice Chairman (subject to Board approval). Mr. Montaser Dawwas will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the merged bank, pending approval by the Central Bank of Jordan. Her Excellency Ms. Nadia Al Saeed, the current CEO of Bank al Etihad, will continue in her position until the next steps are taken. The deal is scheduled to be presented to the General Assembly in an extraordinary meeting for each of the two banks separately, which is planned to be held on June 25, 2025, as a step toward completing the formal procedures, after fulfilling the necessary regulatory requirements and obtaining approvals from the relevant official authorities, foremost among them the Central Bank of Jordan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade / Companies Control Department, and the Jordan Securities Commission.

Senate Approves Three Draft Laws as Passed by Lower House The Jordanian Senate, in a session held Wednesday and chaired by Speaker Faisal Al-Fayez with the presence of Cabinet members, approved three draft laws as received from the House of Representatives. These include the Cooperatives Law, the Virtual Assets Regulation Law, and the Amendment to the Penal Code. اضافة اعلان Cooperatives Law The law establishes a fund within the Cooperative Institution to finance the cooperative sector and an institute to promote cooperative work culture. It also strengthens the institution's supervisory and regulatory role over cooperatives and organizes the activities of cooperative branches and foreign cooperative unions. Virtual Assets Regulation Law This law aims to regulate virtual asset activities to protect users, defining the responsibilities and authorities of the Securities Commission in overseeing the sector. Penal Code Amendment The amendment seeks to expand the application of alternatives to custodial sentences, improve the rehabilitation and reintegration of convicts into society, and introduce suspension of sentences after a final verdict. It also allows for the postponement or installment of fines. The Senate also approved the Finance and Economic Committee's report and recommendations on the Audit Bureau's 2023 report, which highlighted several key issues: Uncollected case values from the Ministry of Justice's enforcement departments totaling JOD 633 million. Outstanding dues from Social Security subscribers amounting to JOD 719 million. Debts owed by municipalities and joint services councils amounting to JOD 281 million. A call for amendments to the Public Funds Collection Law to ensure more effective collection, including selling seized immovable properties at auction after one year of seizure. Budget Implementation Observations The report pointed out low expenditure rates for some projects between 2021–2023 and the reallocation of funds without corrective measures. It noted: 177 treasury-funded projects spent less than 35% of their budgets. 705 projects had reallocated funds, indicating the need for more accurate capital expenditure estimates aligned with a results-based budgeting approach. Additional Recommendations Form a joint committee between the Audit Bureau and Ministry of Finance to regularly settle outstanding advances. Allocate funds for medical exemptions and address financial arrears structurally. Investigate loan portfolios amounting to JOD 755 million, with zero drawdown rates, despite the treasury incurring commitment fees exceeding JOD 5 million in 2023. Governance and Municipal Debt The report stressed completing studies before signing funding agreements, institutionalizing corporate governance systems, especially in companies under Audit Bureau oversight, and warned of: Rising municipal debt. Disproportionate operating vs. capital expenditures. Urged continued support for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project.
