50mph speed limit to be cut on two main roads through Bexley
A temporary speed reduction will soon be enforced on two main roads in Bexley.
The London Borough of Bexley has announced that the speed limit on Picardy Manorway and Bronze Age Way will be cut from 50mph to 30mph.
This is to allow the JSM Group to carry out the necessary works for grid connection and cable works safely.
On Picardy Manorway, the speed reduction will be in effect from the junction with Norman Road to the horse roundabout at the junction with Anderson Way, Belvedere.
On Bronze Age Way, the new speed limit will apply from the horse roundabout at the junction with Anderson Way to Queens Road, Erith.
The temporary speed limits will come into effect on Thursday (February 20) and will be in place for up to 18 months.
However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed in 23 days.
During this period, no alternative routes will be available.
The speed restrictions will only be in effect when indicated by traffic signs.
The changes will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles involved in the works.
The new speed limits are part of a Temporary Restriction of Vehicular Traffic Order 2025, made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
