SUBSCRIBE NOW! ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ FOUR-PLAY: $200 BETTING STRATEGY RACE 2: BENCHMARK 78 FILLIES AND MARES (1200m) $25 each-way EXCESS (2) at $7.50/$2.60 Deep in campaign but raced consistently with runs nicely spaced. Won a similar race last start at The Valley, travelled on speed and kicked to hold a margin on the runner-up. Drawn to low here and should get a similar map, albeit tougher to lead all the way here. Placed in two of three starts at Caulfield, only blemish came three runs back when crossed from wide draw to travel on speed and faded late. Fitness edge on key rivals. RACE 3: 3YO OPEN HANDICAP (1200m) $50 win BIG SWINGER (1) at $2.50 Smart three-year-old gelding with still untapped potential. Drawn to be prominent in barrier two and should be extremely hard to hold out. Completely luckless last start in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint and yet only beaten 1¼ lengths at Randwick. Six weeks between runs a slight concern but Big Swinger looks well placed in this company. Include JUST FOR SHOW (3) in any exotics. A model of consistency and should once again be around the mark. RACE 7: BENCHMARK 84 HANDICAP (2000m) $50 win BOARDRIDER (13) at $4.40 Well up in grade but weighted to be very competitive with only 51kg on his back. Drawn low and has the benefit of rising star apprentice jockey Logan Bates in the saddle. Boardrider should be ready to fire now third-up after two solid performances at Bendigo and Cranbourne respectively. Opened $6 in the market but straight into $4.40 rock solid since. First time at Caulfield and 2000m but pedigree suggests the distance should be no issue. RACE 8: LISTED BEL ESPRIT STAKES (1100m) $50 win NIANCE (7) at $2.40 Graduated to stakes grade last campaign with back-to-back Listed and Group 3 successes to build a record of six wins and a second from only 10 starts. Upside galore still and in most astute hands of trainer Grahame Begg. Drawn out but has speed to land in a good spot and should be too classy first-up despite a number rivals being race fit. RECOMMENDATION (1), also fresh, a track and trip specialist more than capable here. QUADZILLA LEG 1 – RACE 6 JIMMY THE BEAR (3) motored late first-up at Caulfield to run second behind the in-form War Machine. A repeat performance has the consistent performer, an eight-time winner from 34 starts, right in the frame here. Ticks every box. VERDAD (7) has won two of his past three and should again be up in the firing line somewhere. Singapore expat LIM'S SALTORO (4) should benefit from a solid fifth placing in his Australian debut behind War Machine last start. Include MILFORD (6) to cause a boil over. 1ST LEG: 3, 4, 6, 7 LEG 2 – RACE 7 BOARDRIDER (13) has been set a task, well up in grade and distance, but with no weight on his back should more than competitive. The Clinton McDonald-trained Preferment gelding has two solid runs under the belt and pedigree to handle the 2000m test. WONDER KID (4) won a similar race last start and must be respected again. MIRZANN (12) should be better for the run first-up and suited at 2000m. Include DUBLIN JOURNAL (6). 2ND LEG: 4, 6, 12, 13 LEG 3 – RACE 8 NIANCE (7) has won six of 10 starts to date, including Listed and Group 3 fillies and mares-restricted sprints last campaign. Up against the boys here but more than capable and should be able to improve her win record again. RECOMMENDATION (1) is a definite threat, with strong stats across the board – track, distance, class, conditions and first-up. AVIATRESS (4) raced well last start in similar company at Flemington and has won at Caulfield before. 3RD LEG: 1, 4, 7 LEG 4 – RACE 9 HEARCOMESTHESTAR (13) drawn poorly raced in great heart the past two starts at Caulfield and Flemington. Will need luck but more than capable. DIRTY GRIN (16) has won three of his past four starts and should somewhere in the finish again. PRANCING SPIRIT (5) has the right form, held on to beat the progressive Winnasedge last start, to go back-to-back at Caulfield. 4TH LEG: 5, 13, 16 COST $100 FOR 69% SKINNY QUADDIE Start with JIMMY THE BEAR (3), LIM'S SALTORO (4) and MILFORD (6). In the second leg take WONDER KID (4) and BOARDRIDER (13). Then in the third leg take RECOMMENDATION (1) and NIANCE (7). Come home with PRANCING SPIRIT (5), HEARCOMESTHESTAR (13) and DIRTY GRIN (16). 1ST LEG: 3, 4, 6 2ND LEG: 4, 13 3RD LEG: 1, 7 4TH LEG: 5, 13, 16 COST $100 FOR 277% Originally published as Quadzilla, Four-Play: $200 betting strategy for Caulfield May 31, 2025

BEST BET Hughes is racing in terrific form with wins at his last two runs. He's up in class but should measure up again in the last race. Led and tried hard behind a smart one when not far away in stakes class in Adelaide last time. Can improve dropping in class. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5/2, 3, 7, 11/1, 2, 3, 7/3, 4, 6 $100 flexi for 41 percent QUADDIE Race 6: 3, 4, 10, 12 Race 7: 3, 5, 7 Race 8: 1, 2, 5 Race 9: 4, 7, 10 $100 flexi for 92 percent MULTI Race 5 No. 4 Oak Hill (win) Race 9 No. 7 Hughes (win) Current odds $11.52 â– â– â– â– â– Track could be on the verge of good by the start of Saturday's meeting. PRESTIGE OLE (1) was strong at the end of 1400m at Flemington and win again. Stablemate PRESTIGE SNITZEL (2) is an improving type that is the main danger. CASUAL GHAI (3) chased honestly at Mornington and will be suited up uin trip. KAKKOII (4) has trialled well so any betting moves must be respected. SUGGESTED BET: Box trifecta 1, 2, 3, 4 MARKET MOVER: Kaleo $6.50 - $5.50. â– â– â– â– â– Small field engaged but AVEBURY (2) could improve on her first-up run at Mornington and she has a good second-up record. SMART LITTLE MISS (5) has impressed with two wins to start her campaign and should threaten again. HEARCOMESTHESTAR (4) races well first-up and has won a recent jumpout. ATLANTIC SPIRIT (1) is consistent and drops in class for this. SUGGESTED BET: Avebury to win. MARKET MOVER: Hearcomesthestar $3.50 - $2.90. â– â– â– â– â– Difficult race but FLUENT (7) went well in stakes class in Adelaide behind a subsequent Group 2 winner last time out and could find this easier. NO FOOLING (11) was most impressive on debut at Cranbourne and could measure up to this harder assignment. SCAMPI (3) bolted in at Ballarat and will go well. JUST FOR SHOW (1) is a handy three-year-old that can fire fresh. SUGGESTED BET: Fluent to win. MARKET MOVER: Skipjack $13 - $11. â– â– â– â– â– NOSTRINGSATTACHED (1) went down narrowly when on the fresh side in Sydney last time out and drops in class for this. KALKALLO (4) is racing well this time in and should be respected again. SUGAR COAT (7) wasn't far away when resuming at Geelong while RUE DE ROYALE (1) will push forward and give them something to chase. SUGGESTED BET: Nostringsattached to win. MARKET MOVER: Nostringsattached $3.70 - $2.90. â– â– â– â– â– OAK HILL (4) ran a terrific race in a $500,000 contest at Echuca on Good Friday and should be hard to hold out again. SHIRSHOV (6) was another that performed well at Echuca and should again be hard to run down. FLEETWOOD (3) is down from NSW with a good first-up record and has trialled well. FASUTO (8) went down narrowly at Bendigo fresh and will be fitter. SUGGESTED BET: Oak Hill to win. MARKET MOVER: Oak Hill $3.80 - $3.20. â– â– â– â– â– ZIRYAB (10) is racing in great form and could race on the speed and keep rolling again with only 53kg. IMMEDIACY (3) was too good at Mornington and will be fitter. SHAIYHAR (4) was outclassed in the Australian Cup but will be much better suited at this level. DUBLIN JOURNAL (12) can improve sharply stepping up to 2000m with the benefit of his first-up run. SUGGESTED BET: Ziryab to win. MARKET MOVER: Immediacy $3.30 - $2.45. â– â– â– â– â– Hard race but GLOBAL ECLIPSE (7) relished stepping up to 2000m when an easy maiden winner and could continue to progress. OXFORD BLUE (3) was close-up on the Heath track over 1800m and should enjoy the 2000m. THE MUFFIN MAN (5) has drawn poorly but looks ready for this trip. JENNI YOU THINK (8) drops back from Group 3 level and can improve. SUGGESTED BET: Global Eclipse to win. MARKET MOVER: The Muffin Man $5 - $4.20. â– â– â– â– â– PRIDE OF JENNI (1) has 61kg but she's in well against the inferior opposition and predicting Ciaron Maher will have her ready to run well. REGAL ZEUS (2) is flying this time in and rates a chance for the hat trick while HELLSING (5) can build on his determined win in Adelaide. MAKRAM (8) will be fitter for his solid first-up third. SUGGESTED BET: Pride Of Jenni to win. MARKET MOVER: Pounding $15 - $8.50. â– â– â– â– â– HUGHES (7) jumps in grade but has built an impressive record and can complete a hat trick of wins. RED PHANTOM (4) was solid again at Cranbourne last time and could be in this for a long way from the draw. SUNSHINEINMYPOCKET (10) ran on hard when narrowly beaten at Bendigo and will be improved. ANGRY SKIES (5) was too good in the Warracknabeal Cup and could run well again.
