‘They were my babies': Mom of boys killed in Largo crash tearfully mourns loss

LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — The community is reeling after two young boys were killed in a car crash in Largo over the weekend. The boys, 10-year-old Jabarai Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Solomon Riveria, were killed instantly when their Kia Soul was struck by a Dodge Durango on Saturday afternoon. Their mother, Bechinta 'Sheena' Solomon, said it's her daughter keeping her going. 'I'm still a mother of three, but now I only have one living child that I have to stay strong for.' The boys were supposed to spend Mother's Day with her, and now she said she doesn't think she'll be able to celebrate anymore. 'My boys were momma's boys,' Sheena said. Her oldest son, Jabari, had just celebrated his 10th birthday on May 4 and was having a late celebration with his father and brother on the day he was killed. 'What keeps me going, that on the last day of their lives, they spent time with the man that loved them. They had fun with the man that loved them,' she said. Sheena said Jabari was a talkative and happy child who loved school, Roblox and telling his mother about his day when he got off the bus. 'He thought he was the man of the house because he always had the TV remote in his hand,' she said. Sheena said she grew up in Pinellas County and has felt the support of the community during this tragic time. Friends, neighbors and even strangers have shared their condolences and added to a small memorial near the crash site. 'I know how my county is, they're always going to show support in a time of need,' she said. Police are still investigating the crash, which involved University of Miami football player Adarius Hayes, and no charges have been filed so far. While they are still determining the cause, police have said that there were no signs of impairment with either driver. University of Miami football player involved in deadly Largo crash The boys' mother asked for an end to online negativity, saying that she holds no ill will toward anyone involved. 'Anger is not going to bring my kids back. They're still gone,' Sheena said. There is a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses for the boys and support Sheena and her daughter as they navigate this tragedy. The boys' father, 58-year-old Herbert Riveria, who was also in the car, has been in the hospital since the crash. A friend of his, Jeff Howard, said he has six broken ribs and a broken sternum. Jeff started a GoFundMe for Herbert to help support his physical and mental recovery. Gail Prince, the 78-year-old driver of the Kia, died from her injuries on Sunday. Hayes was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Youtuber CoryxKenshin's manga ‘Monsters We Make' becomes fastest-selling indie series, Volume 2 confirmed

YouTube star CoryxKenshin has achieved record-breaking success with his original manga series, Monsters We Make, marking one of the most significant independent manga launches in U.S. history. The first volume sold 200,000 copies within its debut week, establishing it as the fastest-selling indie manga series in the country. With over 21 million subscribers, CoryxKenshin is a household name in the gaming world, best known for his playthroughs of horror games like Five Nights at Freddy's and Poppy Playtime. However, in 2023, the creator mysteriously went offline, returning in late 2024 with a surprise announcement. During his 18-month hiatus, he had been developing his debut manga project. Monsters We Make blends sci-fi and horror while diving into philosophical themes and identity. The manga features strong Black representation, a point CoryxKenshin highlighted when discussing the significance of the main character, Jabari. 'Creating a story that scrutinises humanity and what makes us tick, injecting some of the Black representation I've been longing to see in this space, and finally adding in some sprinkles of my faith in God, were the driving forces behind this project,' CoryxKenshin explained. The character of Jabari is designed to inspire readers much like Goku from Dragon Ball Z inspired Cory during his childhood. Volume 2 of Monsters We Make has already been confirmed for release in late 2025. Despite his publishing success, CoryxKenshin has reassured fans that his YouTube channel remains a priority. He recently stated that he is committed to uploading 100 videos in 2025, following a brief return to offline work in early 2025 to manage his growing business interests.

More government support needed as Kurdistan autism cases increase: Association

"Despite our group's relentless efforts, autism is becoming more prevalent in the Kurdistan Region year after year," Kamal Jabari, head of the Kurdistan Autism Association, told reporters. He called on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to establish an advanced training and rehabilitation center in collaboration with organizations to accommodate autistic children, including those above the age of 12. Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication. The United Nations General Assembly designated April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007. Jabari said that in 2008, one in 150 children in the Kurdistan Region had autism, but the number has since risen to one in 90. "I warn that in another 20 years, one in every 10 to 15 children will be born with autism, meaning every household will have a child with autism," he cautioned. He detailed that the Kurdistan Region has 3,900 children with autism, including 1,350 in Erbil province. Of those, 80 percent are boys, 20 percent are girls, and 40 percent have severe autism. In Sulaimani province, there are 950 children with autism, with 79 percent being boys, 21 percent girls, and 45 percent classified as severe cases. Jabari said the issue of autism has been 'neglected,' with little consideration for the financial and mental struggles of families. He claimed that autism has led to the separation of 50 families and that "80 percent of parents of children with autism suffer from mental instability." According to Jabari, only 12 percent of autistic children benefit from government-run autism centers, while a mere 11 percent receive financial support from the government. RELATED: Lack of support, tolerance turns Kurdistan into hell for autistic children Governmental autism centers in the Kurdistan Region face challenges, and families of autistic children struggle with limited government support, often unable to afford treatment at private centers. Some families have risked their lives by illegally migrating to Europe in search of better care for their autistic children. To ease the burden on families with autistic members, Jabari urged the government to open a special education department and issue a decree exempting families with autistic children from water and electricity bills, housing costs, and marriage loans.
